This is probably my favorite Amazon purchase of my life. The grill sits perfectly on my gas stove top and it expands two burners length so it is big! You can cook a lot on it, it’s sturdy, etc. Very impressed and I’ll get my money’s worth!

I cook on stainless steel pans, so my expectations were high. It fit perfectly into my old grill. It warmed up nicely, no warping. It cooked my food well and it all tasted great. I am happy with the flat insert, my family is happy with the cooking results.

I've never had a stainless pan or griddle, so there was a bit of a learning curve figuring out how to properly season it. The steps I took were 1) wash with soapy water and a green scrubby pad, 2) dry thoroughly, 3) rub the entire thing with vegetable oil, top and bottom (this is supposed to help keep the bottom from rusting), 4) heat up on the grill until the oil just reaches its smoke point and it starts to create a golden glaze on the surface, 5) repeat steps 3 and 4 two more times.After giving it a proper seasoning, I tested it with some eggs, and presto - no sticking! While I don't plan on running my grill just to cook eggs very often, I didn't really have anything else on hand to use. But the next time I make smash burgers (which I've only ever done on the grill, and I hate it when the little bits fall through), this is gonna be a game-changer!

Don't run this at 700f expecting restaurant performance, it will twist like a skinny, silver Chubby Checker. At 450 or less, it holds shape a bit better, I would say a FAR better product for the house stovetop than an actual grill (which is why I still gave it 4 stars) ... Buy some spray oil, the underside needs to be seasoned too or it will rust in a day or so.

I prefer to use my Vine products for several months to provide an honest, review reflective of many times that the product has been used. In this case, I have had this product since late July and used it for 3 months of outdoor grilling. First, it is heavy -- not only in gauge but the fins on the bottom of the griddle add weight as well as stability. It is heavy and my wife would prefer that I lifted on and off of the grill. We had no issues at all with "bending, deforming" or even discoloring due to the heat. The handles were convenient enough to use even with oven type mits. As stated you should season the griddle to avoid food sticking and I used olive oil with a paper town prior to each use or I suppose you could even us a non stick spray (like Weber or even Pam). The proportions of the griddle were perfect for our larger outdoor grill (4 burner) and fit even with the lid closed but I would suggest measuring carefully prior to ordering. The drip area worked perfect for burgers and steaks if you wanted to cook something afterwards on the griddle just use a tool (plastic so as to not scratch the griddle) to remove any grease. It is noted that the idea behind this griddle is to enable you to cook pancakes, eggs and the like or to convert the grill grates into a flat top cooking area where steaks and burgers are cooked in their own grease if that is your preference (i.e., the grease doesn't get burned off like on a traditional slotted grate grill). The use of this griddle over the last 3 months brought a lot of versatility to our traditional grated grille and we now have the best of both cooking options. I would recommend this griddle for its durability and flexibility -- just remember; it is heavy (which is a good thing or not depending).

I'd never had a SS griddle for my grill, but now I can't imagine grilling without it. It's excellent for hamburgers, allowing for smash style, but aside from that, this is excellent for toasting buns, hashbrowns, pizza, and all sorts of vegetables and meats. This cleans easily and I'm shocked at how little the food sticks to the surface. The surface is also large enough to accommodate a large amount of food, and I don't have to sacrifice my grill to have a griddle... when I don't need/want to use this, I simply lift it off and have full access to all my burners. What a great investment!
