Works great with Baofeng BL-5L battery so it can be charged with USB! I have also tested it with a small 30watt solar panel and was able to charge the battery no issue. When its charging the LED light id RED and when full it will turn GREEN. Nice being able to charge this on the cradle or through USBalso noted that if i just plug the DC end into the battery, and dont plug the USB-a end into anything it will also power the LED with a green light
