I build AR's, and the back Detent spring & plate has always been one of the 1st things I modified when building. I drill out and tap the hole behind the castle nut/back plate and these little grub screws are so perfect, plus going to the big box store to only get x2 per Pk. For $1.89. You get a whole bag here on Amazon for wY less than that. These are my go to from now on

These are good set screws, and YES they are stainless. Just because they stick to a magnet does NOT mean they are not. There are different grades of stainless. For instance 304 will not be magnetic. 18-8 however, which I believe these are, will stick to a magnet even though they're are nearly identicle in composition.

Perfect fit. Works on mag catch. The rear take down on m4e1s are a pain and I don't set screw these...more trouble than it's worth

Works perfect with Aero Precisions M4E1 Lower Rear Detent. Trimmed a small amount off aero spring and fits perfect.

I only needed one, but I’m glad there were multiple. 1st one I pulled out was deformed and the Allen wrench wouldn’t fit in it. 2nd one worked perfectly without any issues. I did not check the others to see if any more were deformed or if it was just one random one. Fits perfectly in an Aero billet lower to hold the rear retention pin & spring in place for the rear take down pin.
