These 2N3053's are great transistors and a great deal for a 10pkg. I put them in Hairball Audio "FET/Rack" 1176 Audio compressors that I build and sell. Never had any problem with them either. It is pictured above with a black heatsink on top.

These work and can get super hot without a heat sink which I have.
