I was working on a friend's PC and it did not have a caddy for an additional hard drive. I ordered this caddy and it worked perfectly. This will not fit all Dell computers, but after research this was the correct caddy.

This was a matter of convenience the old drive had Windows on it, which I never use. It was also a 1TB and this is for a system that will run my family media server, I have more images / pictures / home videos and so on than would fit on a 1tb. I have put in an 8TB hard drive and it works great. Perfect part for the perfect use.As always Dell has some great designs for moving stuff around.

This mounting bracket is notably flimsier than the bracket my Optiplex came with for a different drive size, but this one fits and does the job I need it to do with no issues.

As the title indicates, I ordered this for a 7040 SFF, and it fit perfectly.It seemed a little flimsy, but for all I know an OEM one is the same way. I wasn't sure if the pins for holding the hdd were meant to be pushed put, so I put one side of the hdd in first, then pulled the other side of the tray away until the other side of the hard drive could fit into place. Then I locked the tray into the computer, with no issues. It works great and I'm pleased with my purchase.
