These are well-built. Solid, no wobble. The locking knob for stand extensions works well. We used to get these for so much more from photography stores. This is a fantastic deal for the price!

If you need a couple strong light stands that don't weigh too much and will hold all but the heaviest lights, these two will work great. I own a lot of light stands from lightweight aluminum to heavy duty stainless steel and these stands fall somewhere in between. Big enough for most of today's lights and spring cushioned for extra protection. They have plenty of base width to hold things stable and despite the joints being a hard plastic composite material instead of metal, they hold the two center sections quite securely and won't loosen up no matter how much downward pressure you put on them. The knobs are also plastic.

I was looking to replace the lower quality light stands that came with a flat panel lighting kit that I owned, so I ordered this set of Yidamopacn light stands. They are indeed far and away better than the stands that came in the kit. The tubing is thicker, the spread on the legs is wider, and at over 9 feet fully extended, they are two feet higher. The description says that they are "heavy duty", but I would say that they are more medium duty. That being said, with a load capacity of over 20 lbs, these stands are suitable for most COB lights, even when augmented by large soft boxes. The touted spring system doesn't do much, other than soften the landing when you twist the extension locks too fast--they do not in any way replicate the effect of an air cushioned stand. It would have been nice if a carry bag was included, but I've taken to transporting my stands in bags made for ski and softball equipment, which are much more economical than bags made specifically for lighting equipment. At $70 for the pair, I think this is a very good buy, and the price to quality ratio is excellent.

These are nice light stands for photo studio lighting. They seem sturdy enough that I expect they would have no trouble supporting lights up to the advertised 10 Kg (22 pounds). My only complaint is that while they do have a spring to cushion a light if you accidently let the light pole fall into the base, the spring doesn’t prevent the pole from bottoming out even without a light on the stand. In other words, I don’t think the spring would do much to prevent damage to a light that was allowed to drop. It’s probably better than a stand that doesn’t have any sort of cushioning spring, but as always, I’ll be careful to always have a hand on my studio lights before I loosen the locking knob. Because I feel the spring doesn’t really provide the protection I’d like, I’m reducing the rating by 1 star.
