I wanted to use this to connect a female XLR cable to a female port on the iRig amplifier for my iPad. I discovered that plastic XLR connectors would not fit into the adapter, but metal ones did.

These are not up to snuff. The barrel size is just a bit too small to fit Nuetrik connectors, the most common XLR's out there now. They did fit an older Switchcraft XLR, but not any others. Sending them back.

The HUALEU XLR Female to Female adapter is a quality product. They feel solid and the connections are tight. I had no issues with signal loss through them. Very useful for extending your XLR cables.

Keep in mind this won't change from balanced signal to unbalanced, but is great in conjunction with other cables if you need to adapt something at a live show or your home studio in a pinch. It's another tool in the toolbox. The metal is lightweight but seems solid, and the case seems like it can open for repairs, so that's nice to know. No issues with the fit for the cables I tried.

At one time or another, I think most performers have found themselves at a show only to find out the cables they brought wouldn’t work with the equipment at the venue. Sometimes the PA only takes a 1/4” input (or worse, they’re running your mic through an old bass amp or stereo). Other times, one of the XLR inputs on your board dies and it’s 1/4” or nothing. These little adapters are just the thing for such emergencies, and really should be part of every musician’s (or emcee’s) equipment bag. They’re very easy to use; simply plug them into the male end of your cable and you’re ready to go. I had no issues with fit on any of my cables. There were no major issues with sound either, but I did notice a small volume/gain drop. It’s easily compensated for by adding a little more volume, but I thought it worth mentioning. At $12 they’re priced decently compared to similar products, but you can find several others selling for less. These work well, but it might be a good idea to shop around a little before making a purchase. My rating: 4 stars

I checked the adapter, and it works nicely with my other cables. It makes a firm connection on the XLR side. The TRS sleeves are OK, the plastic being slightly recessed, nothing is misaligned, and it should not get stuck or cause problems while connecting. That will be a useful complement to my gear.
