If you'll look at my picture, you'll notice the logo is not "3M", but it looks real close (compare with logo behind it). The construction of this ZIF socket seems to be ok, and works as expected. Another reviewer says these don't last, and I don't doubt that, but I haven't used it long enough to say one way or another. A 28 pin socket is commonly found on EPROM programmers.

Ibordered this product to replace the same type of socket that does not function properly after a couple of years of use -- the lever does not stay down, it always pops up.These sockets appear to be of good quality and the lever locks well. Connectors are likely brass, but they hold well, both thin pins and thick Dupont headers.It is, of course, not possible to tell how long good performance will last, but I am hoping the socket will outlive the device I use it with. So far, the socket performs well.

Not the same TexTool I bought 20 years ago. Metal clasps fatigued after a weeks use. Cost reduced until it's a POS. :Looks like TexTool is now a Chinese Co.
