It's made of high quality ABS and keeps hot shoe contact terminals protected from liquid, sand, scratches or other damaging elements. Simple remove the hot shoe cover when use an external flash unit or other optional accessory. I have a canon R6 and this does not fit. It gets most of the way in but then gets stuck.

This is not compatible with the Canon R5. I bought this based on the info stating it was compatible.
