As with most folks with a luxury German SUV, one of the annoyances is that the finish on the often-used buttons and switches tends to wear off. And since the switches are lighted (from behind) it's necessary that the switch buttons are made of white plastic. That means that when the dark gray or black paint that covers them wears off, the wear becomes very obvious. It's possible to glue a "cap" over the top of the worn switch, and honestly I've done that and it doesn't look too bad. One down side is that less light comes through the cap so that switch will be dimmer at night than its neighbors. But these replacement buttons are a great solution that's quicker than gluing on a cap (assuming you do that right), and much, much quicker than taking off your door panel and replacing the entire switch assembly. And of course, this is a much less expensive option than the full switch assembly replacement.Swapping out the buttons does take a bit of technique, but I found the easiest (laziest...) way to do the job is to insert a very thin trim tool beside the edge of the button, and then use a small, thin screwdriver between the trim tool and old button to pry the old button out. It works the same without a trim tool, but you might scratch up the finish on the painted surround (you can see on the photos that's not difficult to do, though none of those scratches was from the button replacement process). All in all, I couldn't be happier. I love it when a fix is cheap, quick and easy, and makes a huge difference to the aesthetic condition of your car!

These buttons look really good and fits really well in my car. Only problem is that I got both pairs for driver side when description says left and right. I requested for a replacement hoping it was just a packaging mistake but my replacement is exactly the same. No passenger side replacement buttons.
