Last time you filled us the riding mower tank I noticed a bunch of rubber pieces all around the tank under the seat. Lo and behold I looked at the cap and the rubber seal was broken into pieces and some of them I could see inside the tank (somehow I’ll get those out later). First problem was to get a new cap and I saw these on Amazon. Good price and you get 2, worth a try. As you can see in my pictures it fit just right and feels very solid in place. I would expect this cap to fit most JD models and probably a bunch more as this feels like a universal type item. I’m happy so far.

My fuel cap on my 10 HP B&S overhead-valve engine was cracked. This fit perfectly. If you need a Briggs cap and yours looks like this, it's probably the one you need. Fairly large diameter and screws onto the threads on the plastic tank.

This fuel cap fits Attwood 8812LPG2 EPA Certified 12 Gallon Portable Fuel Tank. Atwood says their caps are 2 1/4" standard. These fit, other 2 1/4" caps I tried don't. Thought I'd pass the info along. Good price too.
