The grips don't get cold like other ice tongs do. It's a nice smooth material. Could be a bit bigger but it's fine to grab ice with and keep in the bin

These are so cute! We have used them for ice, but they could be used by the littles for those messy finger snacks (we've used chop sticks and other little tongs in the past) and so much more.They are small, but sturdy. They clean up well.
