In my journey to find good IR illuminators I happened across these. WOW...just absolutely WOW!NOT only are they 940nm but the LEDs are painted black...these are next to invisible in red visible lighting. 840nm illluminators you can easy see...and 940nm still emits some visible light...but not these...you have to be RIGHT IN THEM - face up against them to make out or discern any light from them. The disadvantage here though...is it's a bare board...you'll have to find some enclosure to put it in...no way to mount them. I bought a small plastic project box and cut a square for the LEDs (which sit proud of the board) and shoved it in...I rested that on top of a picture frame and it is all but invisible. One of the things thieves target are the recording devices...which most of them are brightly glowing red. A dark camera is harder to realize it's there. And this little bugger illuminates my living room, dining room, kitchen and spills out in the the master bedroom and foyer (one of those great room homes). Other cameras can see the spill over of lighting it's so bright.I've had it up for about 3 months thus far and nary a peep of a problem. It has a day/night sensor which is similar to the cameras...at least I've never observed when the cameras were without light because this device hadn't illuminated yet.I got it at 19 bucks (plus tax) and it was well worth what I paid. There is some warmth generated and I wouldn't call it hot. If I had a complaint it would be the plugs in the back which sit proud and point straight out - those easily could be side connections. 2 plugs, 1 for power 12vdc/1a, and 1 for a remote day/night sensor and/or other switched device. Of course, because it's a board you can always solder in new connections. And the remote sensor is currently soldered 'closed' (together) so you'd have to desolder that if you used that feature.
