This is an cool little eraser. However, It doesn't have enough power to really do a good job. If you push a little too hard, the eraser stops completely.

The eraser works if you can get a grip on it. Try and hold it with your thumb. What a pain! would not purchase again.

At first, I was impressed with how easy this was to assemble and how ingenious the eraser-holding mechanism at the front was, but once I used it to try to erase, I was disappointed. It took awhile of figuring out how to hold it just right to erase where I wanted it to, but it left some graphite down in the grooves of the shape that I had drawn, even when I went over and over it, there was still some left. That was a regular number 2 pencil and copy paper. Maybe this is better for artists who can use it to smudge or something, but I was disappointed with its performance on my writing pencil.
