Stainless steel clamps are too small. They only give you two for each unit. You should at least have four and they should be 6 inch and not 5 inch.

The supplied clamps are too short. All of the clamps would nt reach the attached worm screw. Had to purchase expensive stainless steel clamps to complete the installation.

I learned the hard way that you should keep one of these on board especially if you go offshore. They will melt and burn of you get a water blockage. This spare boot looks as good as factory and should perform as well especially if you are in a bind and trying to limp home. I like it and would definitely buy another.

I picked these up to have spares on board as I've already seen one person toast theirs when they had a water pump problem. Simply shutting down a Mercruiser inboard outboard isn't enough when the exhaust bellows is toasted and leaking water into the boat! These are perfect replacements whether you need the rubber union or simply the hose clamps as spares. They may not be as heavily built as original Mercruiser parts but if I need to press them in the service I will probably simply leave them in place. The rubber seems to be a good quality and I'm sure will last quite nicely if pressed into service.

This is a flexible hose adapter for 4". It works for all kinds of applications. I used it for my dust collection system to connect PVC pipes together. It is strong and flexible, can tolerate heat as it is made for engines. Also it comes with aluminum ties on both ends.
