It is a great leash. It is strong enough to still hold my dog on 1/4 of the thickness of the small leash. This is not chew proof. 😕 I have to buy another one as he destroyed it in less than a month with anxious chewing when he didn't want to do something. If your dog is a chewer, get a chew proof leash extension.

Good product - works well to keep a wild puppy close and under control.. My only complaint is that if you get any sand near the leash-locking system, it gums it up entirely and won't work again until you take the time to unstick it.

Our previous retractable dog leash we thought was a good one, had used it for years but thank goodness the unexpected happened within our fenced in yard. Our dog was healing after a leg injury and had to be leashed, we were coming down the stairs when a squirrel ran next to the fence line, dog took off and leash not only didn’t retract but completely tore out of its case. Thankfully her leg was okay but leash had to be replaced but this time with a thicker and more sturdier one snd this was it. My husband also loves it because his hands are large and they fit better in this handle that they did with the smaller one.

I must have purchased this retractable leash a year ago for my 14-pound dog. I like have a retractable leash so he can roam when he wants but I can also pull him back when needed. The handle is large enough for me and my husband to fit our hand through and the retracting mechanism works great still.

I ordered this specifically because of the hole under the handle.I put a large ring through there and clip the bag holder there.The handle is big enough that I can fit my hand in it with winter gloves on which is also a bonus, as every other leach I have owned I could not fit all my fingers in the handle.It retracks well. does everything it should plus the loop holder.

I have both a Labrador and a Cocker Spaniel so I purchased a large and a medium. I have owned many leashes but this one is superior to all the other leashes for several reasons:1. Locking system is very easy to use and reacts quickly.2. The "ribbon" leash is made of very tough material and has additional stitching that makes it stand out-night or day and easily moves in out and of the leash.3. The leash itself is very light weight yet well made and the handle is soft and easy to hold but also allows a firm grip.4. The leash lock that secures it to the collar is very well made and can swivel to accommodate where the collar is--also being black helps hide dirt and keeps the lock looking clean.I highly recommend this product.

I have owned numerous Retractable Dog Leashes in the past, and the quality of these leashes was subpar.The Joy Paws is a high quality, well built dog leash. For under $20 per leash, it is true bargain! The fact that thereare 3 size options available made my final decision easy. My dogs weigh between 70 to 80 pounds. I selected the Large size leash, and have no trouble in controlling the movement of my dogs, even when walking my two dogsside by side.My favorite specifications are:* Reflective leash tape, Eyelet on bottom of leash housing to attach poo bag dispenser, and a sturdy lock / release button - mechanism to control the movement of my dogs.
