You can never have too many imapct sockets. These have a great feel and are heavy. The numbers are etched into the side well and they grip the bolts as needed. I like to keep some of these as as backup for when I am working on my 2000 suburban.

First, make sure you really wanted to purchase a 3/8” drive socket and not 1/2” drive. It feels heavy, as expected. The six point hex socket is 1 inch deep plus another 1/2 inch to accommodate a long bolt.

Sockets aren't too hard to screw up and this one is no exception. Most of my toolbox is Tekton/Pittsburgh, this one fits in nicely. Will update if I ever encounter any issues with this.

This is a great socket to have in my toolbox. I'm always looking for common-sized sockets that I have either lost or broken. Having one that is impact-rated, thin-walled, and deep makes this one of the most used sockets in my toolbox. The finish on these is durable, and the steel quality is superb. I would highly recommend these sockets.

I chose the 13mm 3/8-inch impact socket. This seems to be a well-made socket. Most of my impact sockets have a 1/2-inch drive base. As you can see from my picture with the two sockets. The 1/2-inch socket on the left and this 3/8-inch socket on the right. This socket is so much less bulky and it should be able to get into tight spaces. The quality of the socket is as good as any others I have in my tool kit. I like the sleeker size for those tough to get to places. 13mm (roughly 1/2-inch) is very common so I expect this socket to get a lot of use on my cars. I use a 1/4-inch drive impact driver and with a 3/8-inch adapter I can use this socket.

As good as any other no-name socket and the price is reasonable.

The PGROUP 3/8" Drive Deep Impact Socket (3/4 Inch Socket), 6-Point, Cr-V Steel with Black Manganese Phosphate Coating is a high-quality tool designed for professional-grade use, particularly in applications that require the use of impact drivers or wrenches. Here's a detailed review based on its features, build quality, and overall performance:1. Material and Build Quality:Cr-V Steel (Chrome Vanadium): The socket is made from Cr-V steel, which is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to wear. This material is ideal for impact sockets, as it can handle the high torque forces applied by impact wrenches without cracking or deforming.Black Manganese Phosphate Coating: The socket features a black manganese phosphate coating, which adds a layer of protection against rust, corrosion, and wear. This coating also provides an extra level of durability, ensuring the socket can withstand tough conditions, especially in environments where moisture or rust is a concern.2. Design and Performance:6-Point Socket: The 6-point design helps to provide a more secure grip on fasteners, reducing the risk of rounding off nuts and bolts. This feature is especially important when working with high-torque applications or when dealing with heavily rusted or worn fasteners.Deep Socket: The deep socket design is perfect for reaching deeper fasteners that may be recessed or located in tight spaces. This feature makes it more versatile, especially for automotive repairs, machinery maintenance, or heavy-duty tasks.Impact Socket: As an impact socket, it is specifically designed to withstand the high-torque and heavy-duty demands of impact drivers or impact wrenches. It provides better durability and performance compared to regular sockets when using power tools.3. Ease of Use:3/8" Drive: The 3/8-inch drive size is a versatile option, compatible with many impact wrenches, ratchets, and other power tools. It strikes a good balance between size and power, making it suitable for a wide variety of tasks, from automotive repair to general-purpose maintenance.Precise Fit: The socket fits snugly onto fasteners, ensuring no wobble or slippage when in use. This precise fit helps improve overall efficiency and reduces the risk of damaging bolts or nuts.4. Durability and Longevity:Resistant to Wear and Tear: The Cr-V steel and black manganese phosphate coating enhance the socket's durability, allowing it to endure frequent use under tough conditions. It resists damage from rust, corrosion, and everyday wear, contributing to a longer service life.Shock-Resistant: Designed to be used with impact tools, this socket is built to absorb the shock from the high forces generated by impact wrenches, reducing the risk of cracking or breaking over time.5. Applications and Use Cases:Automotive Repairs: The 3/4" size is commonly used in automotive work, especially for lug nuts, suspension components, and other heavy-duty automotive fasteners.Heavy-Duty Machinery and Industrial Use: The socket's robust design makes it suitable for industrial settings where high torque is required, such as in construction, manufacturing, and machinery repair.General Maintenance: Whether you're working on bicycles, machinery, or home improvement projects, this socket can handle a variety of fastening needs that require durability and torque resistance.6. Considerations:Socket Size: The 3/4-inch socket is a larger size, so it may not be suitable for all types of jobs, particularly those requiring smaller sockets. It's best suited for applications that demand a larger, heavy-duty socket. No Additional Sockets: If you're looking for a full set of various sizes, this 3/4-inch socket may need to be purchased separately, as it is a single piece.7. Overall Value:Affordable and High-Quality: The PGROUP 3/8" Drive Deep Impact Socket offers excellent value for the price, providing solid performance and durability for heavy-duty applications. The Cr-V steel construction, 6-point design, and black manganese phosphate coating make it a reliable tool for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.Reliable for Tough Jobs: For anyone looking for a durable, high-performance impact socket that can handle high-torque tasks, this product provides an affordable and effective solution. Conclusion:The PGROUP 3/8" Drive Deep Impact Socket is an excellent choice for anyone needing a durable and reliable impact socket for heavy-duty work. The use of Cr-V steel and the black manganese phosphate coating ensure long-lasting performance, even under tough conditions. The 6-point design and deep socket make it versatile for various automotive, industrial, and general maintenance tasks. While it is best suited for larger bolts and high-torque applications, its solid construction and reasonable price make it a great option for professionals and DIYers alike.
