Privacy function works as advertised. Helps to reduce sunlight glare. Unfortunately, the reduction in clarity for reading negates the privacy and glare reduction. Had to return for a refund. Also, the screen fell off the monitor after one day. It had been installed with sticker tabs that would allow removal and insertion of the screen.

I put it upside down and the other way around, the red glossy side was to sexy and looked like its gonna drag attention, it blocks the screen pretty well, the other side has a black red glow which is visible when light hits it from a windows close to it, it looks cool as well and it blocks the screen.The first step of installation says clearly to put the filter with the side craved with laser facing you, so the other side should face the screen, from what i tried both sides can block the screen and work well.How i compare it to the other well known brand that i have is that they both block the screen, the 3M looks more hot since it has this gold filter, the degree of blocking is almost the same and i guess it will be the same for all the expensive brands, but thats just my opinion, i never heard of any screen privacy that blocks 25 or 20 degrees, anything less than 30 degrees doesn't exist.Now the screen tabs that comes with it, first night it had gaps in the screen tabs from the screen side there was 6 or 7 of them, the next day most of it disappeared except one and its not annoying.I have a refurbished laptop and it has 2 dark long dirty lines slightly noticeable in the screen i wasn't able to clean them out for some reason and it is not something bad in the screen, just weird dirty spots, now they are completely invisible!! so that wasn't part of the deal though and i want my bad screen back please lolDelivery came on time in 2 days with amazon prime, if you want one day delivery you pay 3$ something and you get it in one dayGuess i mentioned everything, today is my second day and i can't see why i should wait longer to test it and type down a comment, i'll add anything if i find something new

I purchased this for my computer screen at work. I never knew it existed until I saw one on the computer monitor at the bank.It was always a concern that curious customers would be able to see the computer monitor from the "U-shaped" check out counter at work, especially when we would be working on private or confidential information. After installation, I stood from all angles of the check-out area to confirm what could be seen. It looks like a monitor that isn't even turned on when you stand at various angles. You can see the monitor when you stand directly in front of it, not from other angles.I LOVE this product!Installation is user friendly. There are two options if you want the sticky strips or tabs to slide the screen onto the monitor. I also went to the 3M website to confirm that I was ordering the correct product for my monitor by entering the monitor information. This product was worth the money!

Update: Had this for about a week now and I love it. It seems to have a tinted window effect that lowers the brightness of the screen and has reduced eye fatigue a lot. Must be a combination of anti-glare (using the matte side) and the darker tint since reducing the brightness/contrast of the monitor did not help.I bought this filter for its glare reducing properties. It has two sides: gloss or matte. The gloss side looks like a mirror and reflects all light. The matte is better defeating glare, but still reflects some light. Actually the LCD monitor I have is better are defeating glare, but not enough. After putting the filter on it has like a car tint effect that reduces a lot of the glare. The dimensions are perfect. Make sure you measure as perfect as possible, and before opening the package use the provided rulers printed on the package to verify your size. The installation is simple with the provided clear adhesive strips. The strips can barely be seen when installed.TIPS:1) The closer you are to the monitor the more you will start seeing the privacy filter properties at the edges of the screen. I have a 22" wide screen and at 25" away I can start to see darkening of the edges of the screen.2) Shake lint off the included cloth before use.3) For glare, make sure you choose the matte finish out.

Despite carefully measuring my screen in advance, the product was too tall and not wide enough for the screen. As we had already opened the package and couldn't return it, we've made due, but it leaves an inch on either side of the screen visible . As for privacy, it works well from left and right angles, but when standing behind, information is completely exposed, even from a distance. Rather pricey for what little gain there is. We bought one for the office and planned to order more if it did the job, but we've decided it's not worth the investment.

I am not sure why there are many one star reviews about this privacy filter. For me, it seems to work pretty much as advertised, as far as effectively blocking out the view from the sides. Naturally, the filter won’t provide much privacy if someone is staring at the screen directly behind the user. However, if the filter was this effective as to block out the snooping eyes directly from behind, then the user would also be prevented from seeing the screen. The installation process is very straightforward and requires putting on a couple of sticky pieces of plastic on your monitor and sliding the filter throughCouple of issues to consider:-In general, the filter naturally does make the screen darker to the user, however I found that turning up the brightness mostly helps solve this. For those that like their screen extremely bright and already have the brightness all the way up, there may be some initial adjustment.-The filter is mildly reflective, so if there is a light source close to the monitor there is potential for glare. This can be fixed by reversing the filter from the glossy side to the matted one.-My biggest issue with this filter is the price. $85 for a 22” seems rather outrageous. Although to be fair, competitor products are only a little bit less expensive. Granted, I don’t know the cost of materials and manufacturing involved in making this item, but the price still seems much higher than common sense would dictate, so I suspect there is some “profit maximization” going on as a result of patents.All in all, it’s a good product that works as described, however due to high price I simply can’t give it five stars.

TOSHIBA DYNABOOK R731に使用。別の会社の商品を購入したところ、太く濃い斜線が入ってまったく字が読めず。代替品を探していたら、こちらの商品レビューを読んで、即注文しました。今日届いて早速使っていますが、使用感は最高です。正面からは多少画面の輝度がおちるのはまあ当然として、全く斜線がはいりません！細かい字もきれいに読めます。偏光フィルターだから似たり寄ったりかな、という懐疑心をもっていましたが、いい意味で完全に裏切られました。斜めからはよく視線をカットできており、片面はゴールド、片面は通常のブラックで、好みや気分で使い分けできます。本当に購入してよかったです。

I was looking for a privacy screen for my computer at work. I view sensitive data, but my computer screen was completely viewable to people coming at me from either side. I got tired of having to close work when people came by to talk, or even if they just happened to be walking by and staring at my monitor. I have no cubicle walls, but my back is to a wall, so this product worked great for me. I have actually had people lean over my desk to look at my computer monitor because they thought I was sitting at my desk looking at a blank screen. I won't go into how rude my co-workers are, but I love this product.However... We purchased two of these, one for my computer and one for one of my co-workers. His desk sits so his back is exposed and he didn't want people constantly looking over his shoulder at his work when they walked by. If your concern is people coming up behind you, this screen will not work for you. It is 100% viewable if you are looking at the screen head on. Not even a little distorted.But if (like me) you have your back to a wall and people are coming at you from the sides, this thing is worth its weight in gold.
