3M 4905 VHB Tape is excellent for applications where an aggressive double-sided clear or colorless tape is desired. The general purpose adhesive on both sides is suitable for high surface energy substrates including metal, glass, and high surface energy plastics. Application ideas include sealing between the inner and outer dome of skylights, attaching handles to sliding glass doors, mounting backlit translucent signs, and edge bonding resin filled glass.
3M VHB Tape provides the convenience and simplicity of a tape fastener and is ideal for use in many interiors and exterior structural bonding applications. In many situations, they can replace rivets, spot welds, liquid adhesives, and other permanent fasteners. 3M 4905 VHB Tape is made with an acrylic foam which is viscoelastic in nature. This gives the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties which provides these tapes with their unique characteristics. If you want a really serious, double-sided, permanent, aggressive adhesive tape, this fills the bill. 3M calls it a VHB tape. That means Very High Bond, And it is. Make sure you put it on carefully, since it won't be coming off easily. As the instructions state, the best bond is obtained when you clamp the two pieces together for a day or so.

It's legitimate 3M & that's what your probably looking through the reviews for. So if you need an adhesive tape that does what it's supposed to do & isn't a knockoff.... LOOK NO FURTHER!

This stuff is wonderfully strong, and easy to use. Used it to stick solar panels to a van roof, and I get the impression I could lift the van up with it!

I have no complaints about the tape's stickyness. It does the job. However, it takes forever to peel back the protection layer. I tried my fingernails, razors, double back tape. The tape works too good - it sticks to its own protection layer. 3M needs to design a better way. It took me 3x as long to do the jobs because I spent 75% of the time trying to get the dang protective layer off . . .

It is a bit hard to peel the red shield cover up.
