I used these to remove some dock rash I had on my boat. I taped off the areas I wanted to repair ( about a dozen) I wet them and sanded starting at 1000 grit-3000 grit. The sand paper held up nicely without tearing or disintegrating.I highly recommend this sand paper.

3M makes top quality products. This stuff is another example of that. I use this for paint correction work. Which is wet sanding imperfections out of automotive clear coat. These packs are excellent for that purpose. 1000 to 3000 Grit are probably the best grits to do most wet sand and buff jobs. Obviously, show quality work would require finer sanding, but for anything that actually gets driven, this is plenty good enough. The price is great and the sheets last a long time. Can't ask for much more.

To remove small runs in automotive clear coat, I start wet sanding with 600-800 grit, then switch to the 1,000 supplied in this kit and work my way up to 2,500 grit. I follow that with an orbital buffer and Mequiars # 1, 2 and 3 with the appropriate foam pads. Doesn't take much time, and no sign of the run when finished. The individual packs are perfect for this, one per paint job.

I've been a long time 3M sandpaper user and their quality has always been consistently excellent. I won't use any other brand when it comes to sandpaper.This assorted sandpaper kit is great for anyone who plans to wet sand car paint, especially after spray painting the car. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I wish the kit also included 3000 and/or 5000 grit sandpapers. To be honest, 2500 is probably fine enough, especially if you plan on compounding and polishing the paint after wet sanding.I used it to blend the new and the old paints, as well as to remove orange peel. I included a picture of my van where I repainted 1x5ft section, just in front of the sunroof. You can't really tell that it's been repainted.All in all, very happy with this kit.
