As for shielding against the splatter, these are as good as expected and do a fine job of keeping the mess away. However, I didn't think about how the handle design really isn't that helpful. The heat from deep frying makes them too hot to hold so it's back to potholders again. If you turn them up ahead of time you can stick something through it to fish it off your pan, but that's a bit annoying too.

I love these and I will tell you exactly why!1. they are pretty well made: not flimsy, no rough edges, the screen is very securely held in place.2. there is no long handle attached3. the lid top folds down to flat so it can be stored without taking up any space at all!4. the variety of sizes to cover all your pot and pan needsI am very pleased!

Screens work as expected and help reduce cooking splatter. They don’t catch 100% of oil, but do a good job cutting down on it. Easy to wash, sizes work for many different pants. Can warp a little when hot to miss some of the grease out the sides

Looking at splatter screens, I think you mostly have a choice between something with a handle that has silicone so as not to get hot, or something like this one with a metal top handle that you can flip up to use--but it can get hot under more extreme heat. I think I prefer this type of handle as it's much easier to store. I also keep gloves handy in the kitchen when cooking so lifting these is not a big problem for me if they get too hot. But I do wonder, could they have attached a small piece of silicone to the handle to provide insulation from the heat?I like that you get three different sizes here.Recommended...

These are well made screens come in 3 different sizes. Screens are tight and uniform. Foldable handles in the middle are great for storing flat and not taking up space. I found the handles could be improved, however. Having handles in the middle of the screen exposed the metal to the heat fully. You have to use thick gloves or kitchen towel to pick it up. It is a bit inconvenient and dangerous having to operate that, especially while you are frying something, taking out finished ones and dropping new ones in the hot oil. It would have been much better to have a handle on the side and make it foldable when you are done.

This 3-Pack Splatter Screen Set is great for keeping oil and sauce splatter under control, making cooking much cleaner and safer. The ultra-fine mesh does a solid job of blocking grease while still allowing steam to escape. Plus, the three sizes (10", 11.5", 13") make them versatile for different pans. The only downside is the all-metal handle, which is centered and gets really hot during cooking. You’ll definitely need mitts or a towel to lift it safely. Otherwise, it’s a well-made, rust-free, and durable set that does exactly what it’s supposed to do!

I have needed to upgrade my splatter screens for a very long time, I'm so glad I chose this one. I really like the different sizes. The handles can get hot though if you don't stand them up before using the screen, and even then they still get a little warm which is why I deducted a star. The screens are easy to get clean again in the dishwasher.Update: After using these a little more I realized that no matter how you place the handle it gets super hot, you have to use a dishcloth to lift the lid. This is a real bummer for me, taking away 2 stars.

This is a multi purpose cover. It works great as a splatter guard.
