IF ripper and/or threader remained out for use these would be great, BUT because neither remain out for use they are essentially useless!! Ripper is sharp in all honesty, but threader won['t work with smaller eyed needles. Would not purchase again, but I am keeping because it is too much trouble to return for the small amount that I paid for them. Do better!!!

This is a fantastic idea for an on-the-go sewing kit. There are little slides to open the threader on one side and the seam ripper on the other and it's very clearly marked which one is which.Oddly, when you push up the threader it locks into the place for use, but the seam ripper you have to hold in the open position or it will slide back into the enclosure. I get that it's sharp so maybe it's a preventative thing, but I'd prefer to be able to lock the ripper open as well.Still a very useful little tool to keep in a sewing kit or next to your machine.

the seam ripper does not stay in place like the needle threader does.I'm not happy about this.
