There is no pad , when it states padded clip. Also there is not an adjustment for tension another thing listed that is not true. Would never buy

There's a nipple in the middle of the clip that keeps the line from releasing when hit. totally worthless

These releases are not adjustable as claimed. They're also small. I doubt they'll work. Obviously the country of origin doesn't use downriggers. I should have known better.
