  • Faster Surface Water Removal: When installed at the inlet, the angled cut design allows for a larger drainage area, helping to quickly drain rainwater from your lawn, preventing ponding and keeping it dry and well drained
  • Accelerating Drain Drainage: When installed at the outlet of an outdoor drain or at the end of a French drain pipe, the angled cut design allows more water to flow out of the drainpipe, facilitating the removal of storm water
  • Grating Structure: The green yard drain cover leaves the end of the pipe no longer open and keeps critters and debris out of your trench drain system for yard. The grate also blends well with lawn slopes without disrupting the landscape drains

Many homes have a downspout drains that needs to be extended away from the house so that it exits on a slope. The angled slope drainage pipe are the perfect daylighting drainage solution for slopes to discharging water onto the slope while preventing pests from nesting up inside the pipe and keeping unwanted things out.

The incline of the drain emitters is just right to allow the pipe to run straight rather than through an upward elbow. Water flow is not slowed, and dirt and debris are flushed out instead of collecting in the pipe. It blends into the landscape, which is great because it doesn't detract from the beauty of the garden. What an ideal solution for yard water management!

Because the angled drain pipe provides a larger drainage area, the mitered drainage grate can be used flexibly as a drain end. In other words, the mitered drain grate can be used not only as the end of yard drains, curtain drains, French drains (similar to the yard drainage emitter for sump pump discharge & downpipe extensions), but also can be used as the drainage grates for yard, French drain cover or French drain kit for yard, which can prevent water from pooling in the yard, as well as storm drain, surface drain, grass drain, lawn drain.

Installation was not too difficult at all - just connect it to the drain pipe. You may need to purchase an additional fitting or adapter at your local hardware store or online store, depending on the type of pipe you have. The emitter fits perfectly with the Sch 40 DWV connector, the SDR 35 connector or the corrugated pipe connector and can be easily connected to your yard's drainage system.

Attentions:

If your drainage system allows debris to enter, such as from catch basins or gutters that don't have filters, you may need to check the grate cover periodically and remove it for cleaning if necessary to prevent it from becoming clogged with debris from your drains.

This 4-inch green angled drainage grate has been great for my yard’s drainage system. It fits perfectly with my gutter downspout extensions and does a solid job of directing water away from trouble spots. The angled design works well with lawn slopes, and the durable material holds up to weather and foot traffic. If you’re managing yard drainage, this is a simple and effective solution!

This will work with the bell end of a 4-inch PVC or even a schedule 35 four-inch sewer green pipe so long as you use the couplers. It doesn't slide into the 4-inch pipe like it says. It's almost the same size but larger, so it's not perfect and will leak water around each other in the ground, but it will greatly reduce flood waters for sure. I knocked off a star for it not fitting inside 4 inch PVC pipe it stated though it does come very close to working. It is super thick and durable. I wasn't expecting the thickness. You can run this over once installed, and I can't see it breaking. It looks nice and has a wide opening for water. Installation was moderately easy with some modifications.

I needed a way to outlet my drainage pipe on a slope without leaving it exposed or unfinished, and this grate worked perfectly. The angled design ensures proper alignment with the slope, and the green color camouflages well with the grass. The build is sturdy, and it connected seamlessly to my pipe system. It keeps debris and critters out while allowing smooth water flow. A simple, effective, and visually neat solution for yard drainage!

I attached this to a 4 inch drain line that I kept loosing to the grass. Every time I would mow the grass I had to look for it and it would get clogged with dirt falling into the pipe. Installing this did take some digging to get the pipe out enough to fully seat into the grate and to get it so the angle was approximately level with the yard. But now it is in and looks great. It may still need some clean outs, but the cover comes off with two Phillips head screws and at least the grass will not try to conceal it anymore. Now I just need one for a 2 inch line in a different part of the yard.

I must comment that the build quality is EXCELLENT. It is heavy and well-built. Far exceeded my expectations. My one hesitation is that this unit is going to be at ground-level, so you need to realize what that means. It means small animals. The bottom hole is large enough to allow a chipmunk or ground mole to enter. Chipmunks would be happy to enter this and climb up the downspout. Therefore, I think that is a design/build poor decision. I can work around that by shoving a downspout screen into this and thereby blocking the hole, but for this price, I dont think that this should be necessary. So I like everything about it except the large hole at the bottom that could allow small critters to enter. Especially at the price (this is NOT cheap item, so I think all aspects of use needed to be considered at this price). Thus, 3-Stars.

I was looking for a solution in our yard in a spot that has an incline. I chose this over a pop-up drain, so we didn’t have to worry about mowing the cover off (true story). This item fit the bill perfectly, connects to the existing pipe and drains well. It’s a very strong plastic that can handle foot traffic and I expect it to last a very long time. My only wish is that the cover had a hinge or magnets instead of screws for easy clean out, but that may not be needed for everyone’s application.

Needed a replacement for my old and inefficient yard pop-up drain. The old pop-up drain is at the outlet for my gutters/downspouts, and it retained debris that required continuous maintenance and cleaning on my part. The angled cut not only allows a greater volume of water to flow out of the end of the drainpipe it also allowed the debris to pass through without ponding at the end like the old pop-up did. The angled grate worked well as it blended in to the natural slope (grade) of my yard. The grate will also keep the critters out. It was easy to install (after I removed the old outlet) but I did have to purchase a separate coupler. This drain is heavy-duty (schedule 40) so I won’t have to worry so much when I go over it with my lawn tractor. At $40 it’s a little pricey…but this yard drain is going to last a very long time. Now I just need to grab me some backfill, and grass seed and the green grate will blend into my landscaping perfectly next spring.

I ordered 2 of these drain emitters from 2 different companies to compare them side-by-side. While nearly identical, there are a couple of differences. Each is made of 4" schedule 40 grey PVC pipe which is cut at an acute angle to form the oval shaped drain opening. A plastic grate is attached with 2 screws. If installing this on a 4" schedule 40 pipe, a coupler is needed. If installing this on a 4" schedule 20 or corrugated pipe, an adapter is needed - this is detailed in the item listing.Of the 2 units that I purchased, the grate on this unit has a lighter green color. This unit uses more appropriate flat head screws, which appear to be stainless steel. The other brand uses zinc-plated round head screws securing the grate - even though the holes in the grate are countersunk. In a perfect world, I would take the grate color from the other unit and the screws from this unit. As these are installed under a bush in the yard, only I will notice the differences. While this seems a bit pricey at $40, plus the cost of an adapter, it installed easily and will be very effective at keeping critters out of the drainpipe!
