This is 4 pieces of 3/8 rope with a loop on one end. Very handy to have on hand. I used them to tow with my riding mower. I can cut down a small tree in my yard, with the loop and can attach the rope to the trunk and tie it to my mower. Then load a ton of branches on the tree and drag it to my burn pile. They call them deck ropes but they can be used for many things.

No, I don't have a tendency to get excited about rope so I'll simply state that these are very good dock lines. Their length is true, at 15 feet, and their spliced eyes are a generous 12 inches in length. The spliced eyes and the bitter ends are finished with a sailmaker's whip, which truly surprised me, as I never expected a modest-priced dock line to have such a useful and decorative whip finish. Further, the bitter end of each rope not only has a whip finish, but it also has a section of clear tubing fused onto the end to keep the end tight and clean. To repeat my earlier statement, I never expected a line in this price-performance category to have such a high level of manufacturing detail and utility. The rope itself is a true hollow double braided line that has a tight weave that won't loosen or tunnel-through if you pull it over a sharp bump or edge. Further, the rope handles exceptionally well, as it's quick and easy to toss two hitches around a dock cleat from a distance. So these are excellent dock lines and I guess that's the highest praise that I can give them.

I got these dock lines as I have a bass boat and a pontoon boat and it seems you can never have a dock line that's handy when needed. These lines are very sturdy and well-made and just about the perfect length. When tying up your boat at the dock, it's very frustrating and tedious when you have to use a long rope or a ski rope because that's all you have on board or handy, these dock lines are just about right as far as length and having four of them will give you plenty of tying and docking options. I like that these ropes are black so they won't show stains and wear as much as white or lighter colored lines. The dock lines have a looped end which is nicely woven into the rope making for a secure and clean junction. The other end is open, but it is fused so as not to fray and allows you to leave it as it is or you could create your own end, placing a metal eyelet into it or whatever you want. Being that these are dock lines, I would have preferred that both ends have a loop so you don't have to sort that out at the dock but that's just my own personal preference. It's easy enough to splice your own loop or end to make it what you want. The lines are sized very well for use on smaller boats, you wouldn't want to use these on anything large and bulky because they probably aren't strong enough to hold a large boat that's surging with the tide or waves but for boats less than 30', they're ideal. The lines are made of nylon and are fairly flexible yet have a strong feel to them. These are very nice dock lines and I highly recommend them. They are a great value and will serve their purposes very well!

We have many uses for these lines. We wanted some high quality dock lines to add to what I have on the boat in the for those occasions that I need to tie up on the opposite side of where my existing ropes tie up.Also need dock lines to tie the bitter end to the cleats on the dock and securing my clam bucket that stays in the water, for clams to spit out the sand through the bucket’s small holes. Also, I needed rope lines for attaching to my kayak and large tubing for when the family is out there having water fun. In all these cases, the 15’ length is perfect. I like the 12-inch loop that I can insert under the center of the boat’s cleat for my 26’ inboard/outboard.The slight disappointment involves the bitter end. According to the seller’s description, it states to iron the end and apply tape. I thought, iron? What? Well, I wasn’t going to do that. I also don’t want this new rope to fray. I resorted to what I’ve done in the past; I just tied a regular knot in the end and sprayed/saturated it and the knot into a specialty rubber coating which I’ve known to stay under water for years. On another of these, I burnt the end before saturating it with this rubber-like seal I have around the house that I rely on. It acts like shrink wrap but smooth with not having any edges to create a snag. I don’t understand how some reviews state the bitter ends are heat sealed. That doesn’t match the description that says to iron and apply tape. See pictures that it looks like a plastic wrap.I do like the 4500 pound breaking strength. My boat is 6000 pounds but with 2 of these dock lines tied up to my dock, hearing the load, I feel very secure. I also like that these lines are not that of a pinchy rope; it’s smooth, flexible and very easy to handle. It appears these dock lines are made with high quality nylon fibers. I expect no fraying, hardly any degradation from UV, and durable to withstand heavy winds and salt water. I do check my dock lines pretty regularly and I anticipate these 4 dock lines to serve the boat, kayak, tubing and clam buckets, remaining outside at the dock, and, to last over long period of time; presumably at least a decade. While the pricing for quality dock lines ranges from 1-3 per foot, these 4 dock lines are very reasonably priced for having the 12-inch loop and high quality, smooth, 4500 breaking strength, nylon, double-braided ropes. While a slight disappoint on having to take steps to keep the bitter end from fraying, I still highly recommend these 4 double-braided, nylon, dock lines to anyone for any reason.
