These molds are very deep, making them ideal for candles and soap making. But I wouldn't go near clay or plaster with these--who wants a 1.5" thick butterfly? I also don't understand why it's a 4-piece set when it's just two identical molds. I guess if you're making a set of candles you could make two at a time, but I would have rather had a second design set rather than two identical sets.

The flower butterfly is my favorite mold by far! I use it as a “knob” on the top of a dish or any number of places where I just want to add a more detailed part to it. Because of it's texture, even if there are a few air bubbles in it, they don’t show because of the amount of texture. Many times I brush chameleon powders in the butterfly and then pour black resin. They are stunning.The second butterfly…the larger one is great because I can put a fast cure resin in the outline and it flows into the entire outline. Once cured, pour another color.
