The lights in my TV went out a week ago and I was so worried I was going to have to buy a new one. I found a video on YouTube, showing how to replace the LEDs by taking apart the entire TV. I knew I could never complete the task, so sent the link to a friend to see if he could help me out. It did take 3 hours and a trip to Harbor Freight (for different suction cups), but he was able to change the lights. Cost me $35, total.

Took about 3-4 hours but the tv is now fixed! Saved hundreds. I’d recommend a system to keep track of the screws and take photos of where they go. I have like 5 screws left over 😄. But I’m not savvy in any way and figured it out watching a YouTube video.

I tried this solution and I did everything right and carefully. I was hoping this would solve my issue but it created a new one that now renders my tv unusable. Just FYI if you’re going to install these yourself :(

Replaced the LED strips on my TCL 55S425. Disassembling my tv was the tricky part, after getting the old strips off, installing the new strips was easy. My TV is back to the way it was before.

I installed the strips in my Canadian S425 without an issue. The LEDs are as bright or brighter than when the TV was new. I did note that the LED itself had a blue filter on the emitter, which may make the backlight colder.Recommended!

1 out of the 4 bulbs was defective, which can only be discovered once the televisions most delicate components are removed and splayed about my living room.... looking forward to their extended stay their while I go through the returns process and await replacement bulbs....
