Our Dining Room furniture is old but high quality. I googled Traditional Furniture and Modern Lighting and was surprised that you can mix the two styles. Our old fixture was a chandelier style light and we decided to replace it. We chose this fixture and we are super satisfied that the whole room looks amazingly reset with a modern twist. This fixture was reasonably priced and I read as many reviews as possible. I am not a handy person but I am methodical and really took my time unpacking and organizing all the parts before I attempted to assemble. Very easy to assemble. The only challenge was holding the entire fixture up on the mounting plate so my wife could screw the fixture to the decorative plate. Even though it was manufactured in China I think the fixture is high quality. The directions could be much clearer but I think that is a cultural difference. We used the decorative yellow filament light bulbs and what a pop! We have it on a dimmer and it is beautiful, bright and visually stunning! Worth every penny we spent. I hope this helps.

Cheap construction. Does not support the weight of small items, nor does it provide surface light. Don't buy this!

I looked at several chandeliers for months in stores and on amazon! This chandelier was the winner because of price and quality!
