I have to admit that I was skeptical that this device could actually downscale to 1080p from a 4K source. Many devices are able to choose among the lowest common denominator and simply tell the source that it should send that same resolution to all devices. I connected this between my Roku set for 4K output and my 4K TV. Using "Info", I confirmed that it was still 4K. Then, I connected a 1080p TV on a second output. That worked fine and reported the 1080p resolution. I then confirmed that the 4K TV was still at 4K. I went a bit further and tried connecting a 720p TV (standard HD) and that did not work. Finally, I tried a 1080p signal through this device to the 720p TV. It could not downscale that either. Not surprising, but just know that there is that limitation. Good device, though.

Overall, this HDMI splitter works decently well, and will probably work very well for most people. My specific use case is splitting a signal from my desktop PC to a monitor as well as a capture card feeding into my laptop. The monitor runs at a higher resolution and refresh rate than the capture card, which maxes out at 1080p60.When using this splitter in "A" mode, it provides the right resolution to the capture card but misidentifies the monitor's specs and either makes everything tiny because it thinks the monitor is higher resolution than it actually is, or makes everything look fuzzy when set at the correct resolution manually. I tested both HDMI outputs on the splitter in case it was expecting the highest resolution device to be plugged into specifically the 1st or 2nd output, but it didn't help.So I was forced to use the "B" mode, which allowed everything to work and look good, but now the monitor was capped to 1080p60, since that was the max for the capture card. It could be something about the capture card I'm using that prevented the "A" mode from working as intended, or it could be a limitation of this splitter, so I'm only docking 1 star to be fair.

This product does what it claims, but it may not be what you need. Unlike many HDMI splitters, this one is mirror, only. So you're not going to double your PC desktop area by adding this splitter and a second monitor. It will drive the same image to two different (even very different) monitors, though. Sound did not come through.I tested this with a 47" modern TV and a brand new 15.7" portable display. The unit scaled each image appropriately and managed to drive both displays with the same image immediately. The performance for movies showed no notable lag or defect. There was quite a difference in the brightness of each display. The TV is normally driven by a different HDMI input driven by a modern multimedia receiver. The display brightness is perfectly adjusted from the other driver, but very, very bright, almost washed out when driven by the splitter. This was interesting because the 15.7" display was simultaneously very dark. The small display had just been adjusted while attached to a laptop. I am not sure I can blame the large difference in brightness between the two displays on the splitter, but I'd be curious to hear from others. The aesthetics of this device are a bit bare. It's very lightweight and has the heft and feel that caught me off guard, at first. I rate this at middle of the road, barely.

This comes in handy whenever i need to display from a desktop computer to a projector. I can do various demonstrations while the audience can view it on the bigger screen. There are no issues regarding the quality of the image, and it can display images up to 4K for videos. Setup is pretty much plugging in the power adaptor and attaching the HDMI cables to your different type of displays. I didn't see any screen latency but my cables are pretty short. If you had long runs on the cables, you might want to check if latency matters to you. The splitter box itself has a on/off slide switch on the right hand side and a A/B switch on the left side which allows you to switch between the 2 EDID mode. This handles how extended data coming through the HDMI are passed through the switch. They say that this switch can piggy back off another switch to create more ports but haven't tried how reliable that is since I don't that many ports.

The splitter works great! For my work, I frequently have to output my computer screen to multiple displays, so this was perfect for that. Quality is great, and it is truly plug-and-play: I didn't have to fiddle around to get it to work.I also love the ability to mount it on the wall for a clean look and tidy cable management. I can find no fault with it. Highly recommend!

I mistakenly purchased this product not realizing that it wasn't what I was looking for. However, it does mirror whatever the input is on two different screens. Please be better than me and read the listing more carefully.
