I was able to hard wire a RING doorbell camera and restore constant power so the homeowner didn’t have to remove it to recharge the battery. This was required for this installation due to a missing original doorbell chime and a disrupted wiring but wiring still existed to the doorbell button location.

Just installed it with my Ring doorbell. Since I needed an angle box, I mounted this on the inside, hidden away. It’s supposed to keep my Ring doorbell slowly charged (won’t know if this is true for a while). The only drawback, like I read on another review, is that once installed, my home doorbell no longer works. I’ll be buying a Ring Chime to replace this loss.Ring customer service said my 2nd generation doorbell didn’t need this 50 Ohm resistor (taking it out would make my home original doorbell work), but I don’t want to have to take down and charge my Ring doorbell—— would rather this slow charge from the resistor.

Reduce the Aluminum casing is best. Cable can be out from both ends.

If you are trying to stop your doorbell from the vibration or rattling that comes from hardwiring a ring doorbell, this is the only resistor that will work. I have tried all the other garbage and all of them would fail after a day and get super hot. This one has been perfect.
