Living in an older home, this has been extremely useful in finding drafts and sealing them up. Just for the change in comfort in my home, I'd recommend this.Nice case, ease of use, clear displays, nice laser to assist with pin pointing where I'm seeing the temp.Great product!

What can I say, it's an infrared thermometer guy - it does exactly what you expect, but actually more. It has a thermal probe, it shows ambient air temperature and humidity, and has a greater temperature range than most units. So far, I'm pretty happy with this as a general purpose infrared thermometer

This product does everything I wanted it and I am sure a lot more. Got it to check the surface temp of my terracotta wood fire pizza oven. Obviously if you point it at fire it says hot… but what you can measure with this tool is the surface temp of the cooking surface. This helps you know if you should put in another pizza or first stoke the flames or add some wood. If you dont want your pizza to stick to the oven then you need this tool.When you pick it up it’s off. When you press the trigger it initiates the temp reading. Takes a second at first press, but if you just wait a second with the red light pattern on the spot you want to check it will take a reading without pressing a second time. When you let go of the trigger it will record and hold the reading for a few seconds so you can read and think.My pizza game has greatly improved with adding this infra red thermometer.

Gets thrown off by ambient temp swings… have to wait a while to use if you go from inside to outside or vice versa.

I bought this unit so I could see if electronics and electrical devices were over heating, such as checking the bearings on the alternator, and even cooking food, so far so good. It is made well and the screen is easy to read and the carrying case is a real plus. I'm Happy! :>)

I like the large digital display and the highly visible target reticle (laser aiming). It functions well and has some adjustability for different material types, i.e. glass, metal, etc. which make it a bit different than any other similar device that I have come across. It has decent instructions on how to make adjustments but it's a bit much. The only issue I have is when you connect the probe. It has to be calibrated with a mode/setting to get any where near an accurate reading. This is just an additional complication that you would think would be automatic. Overall, it's just ok

UPDATE: I discovered Emissivity adjustments today. Adjustng for Emissivity can make up to a 30 degree difference in the temperature reading that you get.Luckily most things have relatively close emissivity, however there is one exception, Gold. One might be able to use this to verify if a gold coin is truly gold, which has a 010 emissivity. unfortunitely it may be fooled by a coin plated in gold but with the real thing.This Heat Gun takes Heat Guns to a whole new level of Accuracy!! There was a statement on the case that reads:ReminderFor accurate temperature measurements:1) Align the Infrared thermometer gun's internal temperature with the surroundings2) Allow a 30-minute equilibration if ambient temperature changes before measuring the object's temperature.There is also a very informative manual that goes into the intensities of temperature measurement even further!The IR thermometer comes with a nice, zippered, hard shell protective case. Inside that case is a hard probe thermometer that can be used for things like taking internal temperatures of meat cooking on a grill. Unfortunately the probe has to be removed when the hood is down on the grill.In use the temperature gun has something I have never seen on any other gun, When you push the trigger a center point surrounded by 12 other laser beams that show the diameter of the area being monitored by the device. That area gets much bigger as you get further from the gun. At 10 feet that diameter is approximately a foot. At 25 foot that diameter is approximately 3 foot. I'm sure other heat guns have similar performances but I did not think that the area being monitored was that large.Knowledge is good and the more you know about a tool that you are using, the better you are able to determine how to use the tool effectively! This heat gun is a big step forward in the technology!This is a first rate digital temperature device!
