Been on my hoda pilot for 1500 miles. Noticed a drip. Pulled off the cowling and there it was a drip front the bottom of the table. No sign of any fluid from any where on the upper areas of the filter or the hoses. Cleaned it up, ran the car.. still leaking from under the Raybestos name band. But no where else. This filter was not touching any other component but secured very well.

This transmission filter is just about the best thing you can do for longevity of a transmission. I is also mandatory for the fresh start up of a rebuilt transmission. It will catch the metal particulates that are in lines and transmission cooler from the previous transmission. One of the worst things to do is start up without flushing the cooler lines. This filter will catch the metal particals that remain keeping the new parts from failing.

I add these to every vehicle I own. Add on the power steering and as a supplement for the transmissions screen. Easy to install and change when needed.

It is a plastic canister with little to no filter back pressure.I used it on my 2010 Acura TSX 2.4L,Auto 5 spd trans. The oem never recommends changing this filter. The OEM I took off the car had quite a bit of resistance and only flowed in one direction.This filter, made in China(not Australia as reported in customer reviews) had no back pressure to fluid flow in either direction. I’m a bit concerned, that it is totally passive, except for the magnet. In that case it’s not really a pre filter.There should be a anti reversion to stop back flow and or a bypass valve (which is claimed) incase of the filter media becomes full. In 6 months I will update the performance of this device thru dissection.

Appears to be working and easy to install, though I had previously installed this style of filter, so was a simple matter of pulling the old one out and installing the new one.

Great filter and easy to install. Helped the transmission in my old truck. After installing this filter, I drained and replaced a gallon of transmission fluid each time I changed the engine oil- just what would drain out, not a full flush. After a few changes, the transmission was shifting more smoothly, especially into 1st when at a stoplight. I’ve replaced this filter once since then and have 300k on my daily driver. Highly recommended.
