Set my camera up with this filter and have been able to take solar pictures. Captured the 2024 eclipse with it.

I got this filter for the eclipse that was passing over Western NY in April. Because of cloud cover at the time of totality, I was not able to use it for that purpose. I have taken photos of the sun at other times though. I am satisfied with the quality of the images of the sun that I got. My untrained eye does not see any anomalies or imperfections in the images.

Purchased to rake creative photos of the sun. Found the filter to be darker than desired for the specific project. Filter appears to be high quality. I am keeping the filter for future projects. Will be nice to have available.

I got this to shoot photos of the eclipse. We live in the path that only saw 90% coverage, but it was still very cool. We had a lot of clouds for the event, but enough breaks to get som decent pics.

Had to get a good solar filter for the upcoming eclipse. This is the one you want. Itssolid, does what its supposed to (stop direct sunlight from burning your optics out),and its 20 stops. If you need one of these you can't go wrong with this.

The filter appears to be of good quality. Bought it for the solar eclipse and took some decent shots with it, but I think it's too dark even for direct solar shots. Unless you need very long exposures, I would go a step lighter.

2024 Eclipse, and I saw many people in a park, where the results were yellow and smudgy.Not with this proper filter! Not having the smudging problem, and not making the sun overly yellow at all. I was able to make photos and video recording from the Eclipse with my A6600 with 350mm telelens like you wouldn't believe. It was awesome. I am so glad I went for a good filter! I am now considering actually flying to Spain in 2026 to capture this all over again. What a strange and unusual and impressive an eclipse can be.Also, outside of eclipses, you can see sunspots with it, which is also interesting. So yeah, this filter: get it! This is great!

The "landscape photography" question made me laugh. There is only one thing you are likely to buy this filter for, and that is to photograph the sun. Nothing else is likely to show up thru this bad boy, because it only passes one one-millionth of the light. Even arc welding will have a hard time getting thru it.I bought it to go on a Tamron 150-600 zoom lens, which has a 95mm filter thread. Fits fine. I loaned this rig to a friend for eclipse photography. It was perfect for the early and late phases of the eclipse but for totality you take if off. I've been having fun with it for photographing sun spots, comparing mine to the NASA SDO probe. Tamron supertelephoto: $1100. Nikon DSLR: $600. ND1000000 filter: $65. Not doing too shabby a job compared to a $817M solar space telescope? Priceless!

I purchased this filter a bit last minute ahead of the most recent annular eclipse and I am extremely happy I somehow landed on this one. The photos I took using it are spectacular. I've borrowed from photography friends a few other filters designed for solar photography in the past with mixed results (some much more expensive than this one) and didn't feel like they really did a great job or sufficiently filtered the light appropriately. I don't leave a lot of reviews generally, but this was worth reviewing - I'm really happy with the photos I took and am excited again to use this filter for my photography during the upcoming total solar eclipse in April.
