About this item

  • 54MM BOTTOMLESS PORTAFILTER: Compatible with Breville Barista Touch, Express, Pro, Bambino Plus, and Infuser (Models BES880BSS, BES870XL, BES878BSS, BES500BSS, BES840XL). The bottomless design allows you to clearly observe the extraction process, helping you refine your espresso-making skills
  • FILTER BASKET & PUCK SCREEN: Includes a removable filter basket with a max capacity of 18g and a 53.3mm puck screen. The basket can be swapped for different sizes, while the puck screen reduces splashing and prevents coffee grounds from contacting the group head, keeping it clean
  • PREMIUM MATERIALS: Made of food-grade stainless steel for durability and easy maintenance, with a red sandalwood handle that provides a comfortable, ergonomic grip. The natural wood surface feels cool and smooth to the touch
  • USEFUL TIPS: For better results, use fresh coffee beans or finely ground coffee. Adjust your grinder to a finer setting and use 14g (0.49 oz) of ground coffee for double shots. Use the WDT tool to break up clumps, reduce channeling, and ensure even tamping. Don’t forget to place the puck screen before extraction
  • PLEASE NOTE: Our portafilters fit snugly into the group heads of Breville Barista machines. Please check the position and thickness (6 mm) of the portafilter tabs for compatibility
  • Bambino Plus: While some users find that 6mm tab thickness works well with the Bambino Plus, others find it too tight. This may be due to variations in the machine’s seal, such as newer or older gaskets. Currently, most portafilters for Breville Barista series on the market are 6mm

I like using this product because I can actually see what's happening during the extraction. The handle feels nice and solid, and it fits my machine well.

this is a good beginner bottomless portafilter for my Breville Bambino, my issues with it come that its not more front heavy which means it doesn't sit still in my puck prep station and rocks back a little. The other issue is the locking tabs are a tiny touch too large which results in minor scraping sounds when locking in my Bambino. Aside from those issues it functions well and produces good espresso flow

Very impressed with this off brand portafilter. It has been a great tool on our espresso journey. This won't solve issue immediately but will help identify them quickly. Love the look of this tool and the fact that it comes with the puck screen.

I just received the VOURMIO 54mm Bottomless Portafilter today and couldn’t wait to try it out with my Breville Duo Pro. Right out of the box, it fit my machine like a glove, which was such a relief. No adjustments or issues—just a seamless connection. The wooden handle is beautifully crafted and feels sturdy and comfortable in hand, giving it a premium vibe that enhances the overall experience.Using this open portafilter was a game-changer. It gives me so much more room to improvise and experiment with my coffee-making process. Unlike a closed portafilter, this one allows me to really observe the extraction and refine my technique. Watching the espresso flow is both satisfying and educational—it’s helped me spot and adjust any channeling right away. The included filter basket is such a bonus. It’s high-quality and worked perfectly with my setup, giving me smooth, rich coffee right on the first try. And speaking of coffee, the taste is noticeably better. I don’t know if it’s the open design or just that it’s so well-made, but the espresso had a fuller flavor and a beautiful crema. If you’re on the fence about upgrading to a bottomless portafilter, I’d say go for it. This one not only works perfectly but also makes the coffee-making process more fun and rewarding. Highly recommend it to any Breville user looking to step up their game!

I was very impressed with this bottomless portafilter. Through my 15 year coffee journey, I have owned several 3rd party portafilters and baskets for various machines. This is one of the best.First, it fits the Breville Bambino perfectly. Not too tight, nor too loose. It tightens to where eh handle is perfectly perpendicular to the machine. Perfectly. Also, the wood handle is very nicely finished and it is affixed to the head. No need to constantly re-screw nor tighten a handle. Different than most! The weight balance also feels great. The nickel polished metal is heavy and sturdy but not too heavy. I just love the weight and how this feels in the hand. it is a joy to handle and use. Finally, the bottomless basket that it comes with is pretty great! No, it is not an IMS, but it is better than the OEM Breville bottomless basket and honestly on the high-end of most baskets on the market. Usually, you buy a new portafilter and discard the cheep basket that is included. Not with this one. The shots are actually decent. The one thing that I cannot comment on is the puck screen. Simply because I have never used one nor would be able to compare it to anything. I believe people when they say it improves their shots, but I have yet to feel the need to use one. My grind and tamp are doing just fine. Dry, easily removable pucks are the norm.in the end, this is a great 3rd party accessory that is nice than most. Indeed, get this one.

The wooden handle is classy and adds a nice aesthetic touch to a machine whose housing is, well... plastic, basically. Why would you want to use a bottomless portafilter? Does it brew better coffee? The answer to that is yes and no. By itself, it won't immediately improve your cups, but if used as part or your learning journey with espresso drinks, this can definitely make a difference.Using the bottomless portafilter, in conjunction with weighing your beans and following up by weighing your drink as it flows from the portafilter into your cup, helps you to evaluate your puck preparation: if you get a lot of little squirts as your shot flows, it means that you are getting channeling. Channeling is where water is finding a path of least resistance through the puck, and thereby not fully extracting the goodness from the coffee. As you practice puck preparation, you want to get to the point where the shot oozes evenly out of the bottom of the basket evenly over the surface of the basket and then coalesces into a single beautiful stream with tiger striping, the hallmark of a well-prepared puck.If you are like me at all, at first attaining this will be elusive. Weighing your coffee beans, grinding to an appropriate level, WDT'ing the coffee bed, then smoothing the coffee using a Stockfleth stroke or a coffee leveling tool each is an important step in achieving a good pull. Your shot should pull between 20 - 30 seconds, so timing the shot is also valuable. You can get a little scale for low money that has a built in timer and accuracy of 0.1g. It needs to be small enough to fit, with the cup or other catch-vessel, under the spout of your portafilter. There's another advantage to a bottomless portafilter: more room for your cup and scale underneath.Regarding the puck screen, if you value this tool, it's included. I don't personally use these, but some folks favor them. It comes along with the portafilter, so you can try it out and see if you like it.Good luck on your coffee journey. This is a worthy tool to experiment with by way of improving your puck preparation, and, though it may be frustrating at first, ultimately, you will get better shots when you master the art of achieving an even, beautiful flow.Cheers!

I've got to say even though I gave this 3 stars, I love it and use it daily with my Breville Barista express. The handle looks and feels so nice in my hand and it locks in well with my machine. The wooden handle is so nice to the touch, as it adds a depth of warmth to making espresso. It just feels right to hold. Don't get me wrong, the OEM portafilter I have is good, but the handle doesn't feel as nice. Why 3 stars? The basket is a bit frustrating as the metal spring is loose. This means the basket doesn't 100% lock into place, so sometimes remains in my machine when I take out the handle or becomes loose when I knock the puck out. If you are a beginner then this might make you loose confidence that you are doing it right. It could just be my model that is defective. Also, you really need to let this basket preheat well or the puck gets stuck. It's less forgiving that the OEM basket. As soon as you finish don’t wait to discard the puck. Sometimes when working from home I only have time to pull a shot and get back into a meeting. That being said, I use this daily for the handle and I feel like my shot has been developing more of a creama than with the OEM.

I absolutely love this portafilter mainly because there's no more guessing game on knowing if your espresso shot had distribution issues or not. When switching coffee beans, it's now so easy to identify any problems and adjust accordingly. For the material and design, the wood handle is beautiful and comfortable.I'm guessing it will be less durable than the regular black plastic I'm used to, but only time will tell.Note: I have a Breville Barista Express, and the fit is perfect. My only problem was that my spring-loaded tamper didn't fit in the provided filter basket, but I switched it with the Breville original I already had and the combination made all my tools fit perfectly.

Wasn't expecting much but the build quality is actually quite nice. The included basket and screen are kinda meh but I just viewed them as bonus items really. I'd say the basket is about similar quality to the one included with most Breville units. The portafilter/handle itself is great. As another reviewer mentioned, it'd be nice if the branding was a bit more discreet, as the logo on the handle is quite large, but no complaints otherwise.

Build quality is great, the wood handle is well made and perfectly smooth, the portafilter head is nice and heavy and firmly holds the basket in place. The thickness of the portafilter head is good for retaining heat and avoiding cooling your shots while brewing. I do think that the ears on the portafilter and slightly thicker that the original and are a bit tighter on the group head, nothing too concerning though, I have a breville infuser. One thing that’s not mentioned and should be, as with all bottomless portafilters they are messy, lots of little drops of coffee go all other the machine. But this portafilter is no different in that regard from any others. Overall it’s great value for the money and I would definitely recommend it

This is a perfect fit for my 54mm Breville barista machine. I really wanted to finally pick up a bottomless portafilter to more easily see how well I'm extracting my coffee and this is a great option! The wood handle looks really nice and feels good in the hand. There is a nice weight to the whole unit overall, a touch heavier than the one that came with my machine. The basket that comes with it is solid quality. The sides are not quite vertical throughout, but rather has a very light taper towards the bottom and fits a good amount of coffee--I use 17.5g in a typical shot and it fits that dosage perfectly! The basket size is standard so if you like the sharper taper of other baskets you can easily swap them out.The puck screen is a decent add-on to go over the top of your espresso before brewing. I don't really like the "mesh" style screens as much as the ones with larger performations, but it does not have any impact on taste and keeps the head of my machine nice and clean.
