My dog has developed severe allergies. I was able to determine that one allergen was chicken. He is so allergic he will scratch incessantly and rip his coat out til he is almost bloody. I eliminated chicken and he did fine for a while. When he started itching and ripping his coat out, I ordered this test. A food that came back as not being an issue was chicken. It did say he was highly intolerant to chicken meal and chicken organs. This makes no sense. It also said he was intolerant to dog dander. Save your money and get a medical allergy test done

This is the 2nd test I have done for my German Shepherd. I did the first one a year ago because of severe itching. I eliminated all his twos and threes from his diet and started makings his meals myself. He responded positively! Unfortunately I did not rotate his proteins or vege/fruits enough so he resumed his itching; hence the need for this 2nd test. Sure enough, he is showing intolerance to the proteins that he previously did not. I will be starting all over again but will definitely rotate his food as is recommended. I highly recommend the 5Strands Intolerance Testing!

Took a shot doing this test. I don't know what the outcome will be which is why I gave only 4 stars. But doing the test was easy and receiving results happened within a week. My 11-year-old lab mix has been obviously dealing with some food and environmental sensitivities. Hoping this will steer us in the right direction in terms of her food which has been especially hard after a pancreatitis episode a few months ago. Plan to also share it with the vet. Kudos to Lauren with 5Strands Customer Care Team. She was very helpful with my questions.

our poor great pyrenees kept licking his hair off his feet and was always inflamed and itchy. after asking the vet about testing and hearing the cost, i found this option. I did not anticipate it to work, but sure enough- it lit up like a christmas tree. we figured out the main culprit was actually the baking soda we were using to clean the carpets. once we figured it out and stopped the product he was no longer itchy. I cannot thank this test enough.

Silver labs are known for skin issues and mine is no different. He's spent his 6 years on earth itching off and on and last year he started eating soil out of flower pots. We took a shot with this test and I’m so glad we did. It was very overwhelming getting the results as he showed intolerant to so many things but it also showed a few heavy metals , including arsenic, in his system. Assuming that came from the soil so we blocked his access to the flower pots and we did spend the extra $$ on an hour long consult with the nutritionist. It was so worth the money. She was very nice but also very thorough and we made a plan for Jake. It’s been about 3 months with his new diet and no more itching.

Highly recommend 5Strand food sensitivity dog testing. We had all kinds of issues. Itchy skin, soft stools, ear infections, nail infections, etc. He was on vet prescription meds, vet prescribed soap, by-monthly allergy shots and daily V-mox ear drops. We did the testing and beyond grateful we did! We focused on eliminating all high sensitivity food items. Very hard to find a dry food due to all his sensitivity issues, but we found one. We also discovered all his soaps had high sensitivity ingredients in them. Found a special bar soap only $2. This testing has saved us $100’s of dollars in specialty foods, vet bills and products. Different dog. No special foods, allergy shots, expensive vet dog food ear drops, itchiness or stinky dog!

I called 5 Strands with questions about my dog's intolerance test results. They were easy to reach and very helpful. I had concerns about some protein sources, fruits and veggies not included and Sherry was helpful in offering solutions as well as taking notes to discuss with management for what customers would like to see added.

I sent the report straight to the vet. Our kitten, after being spayed, has had diarrhea since mid October (it is almost January now!). Vet tried elimination diet plus a couple other things - mostly sensitive tummy dry food. Anti diarrhea meds did nothing! He also gave her a probiotic. Turns out she cannot have turkey - the main ingredient in the sensitive tum food! The probiotic was mixed with a meat fat and vitamins she is also level 3 sensitive to, so no shock that didn't work. Her list is quite extensive as I'm only showing 3 photos. She can't have turkey or certain fish but thankfully chicken is still on the menu. She's even level 3 to cat dander! I was shocked at how much red was on her list, poor girlie. Not sure what the vet will make of this, but if her tummy issues are a result of an intolerance I'd rather pay for this test and spend $XX/month on custom cat food than spend a quoted $6000 on diagnosing her with IBS which doesn't resolve the diarrhea.Regardless of what the vet says I'm glad we bought this test. In the future if I'm giving her foods or vitamins I will check the ingredients against this test.
