I use a little water and wood glue to fuse and reinforce the ends which tend to unwind. Tube wall is thick, insulating optical path and very paintable. R.C.

these tubes are as "strong as a truck" , They are ideal for shipping posters, framing stock, and various long and skinny items. The top and bottom "caps" fit very tightly. You really don't need to tape the caps.
