I wanted something that would help keep my goldfish sane during short trips. I love the fact that it can go up to 15 days, even though the goldfish begs to differ on the statement (which, to the best of my understanding is true) that it can absolutely survive and thrive being fed once a day. The feeder so far looks reliable, and more than enough for my at-most week-long trips. What I didn't like with this feeder were the instructions - I found them difficult to understand, so it took a bit more trial and error to get this set up and running, but it was certainly worth the hassle

I have several automatic fish feeders for different tanks. From the ultra high-tech ones with the camera to watch your fish, to the barrel type. Those all hold a significant amount of food though. I ordered this one for my daughter's 5 gallon beta tank. I have to say I LOVE the simplicity of this one. It is so easy to use and the individual compartments make it so much easier to control the portions. It is also silent.I can see how if you're going to be gone for more than a couple weeks (I don't have it near me now to count the compartments) how this wouldn't work and you'd need something with more capacity. But man this thing is so much nicer than my other "fancier" feeders. I'll probably order a couple more of these and replace my other feeders on other tanks. Sometimes old school is still best. Really, can't recommend this "simple" feeder enough.

This unit fits on an aquarium with a lip on the rim. It took a little coercion, but I did get it to fit fairly easily. The manual sucks. It takes a lot of looking and experimenting to understand the settings. I think I finally have it working like it should. For my aquarium, it fits on a post that is on the clamp mount. There are also options to mount it on suction cups. It is low profile so it fits under my hood, which is great. So far, I like it. It is nice to see that the fish get fed even when I am away.

Bottom line - works well, but at this price point I like others better.Ordered this for my neocaridina tank, as I wanted complete control over what is fed at each interval (as opposed to the more common barrel type feeders that spin around a 'scoop'/dump from a reservoir). The unit is made of decent plastic - not the best quality, but better than the cheapest feeders I have used in the past. The kit includes everything you need to mount this and also includes a charging cable, though not the wall adapter. Programming is pretty straight forward and it appears to be a very reliable unitNow - why 4 stars and my comment about liking other units better - the main reason for this is that the grid the food drops from is always open and directly faces the water. As a result, moisture does get into the food storage area. While it isn't a big deal for my specific use (using shrimp pellets, daily feeding so it only holds 2 weeks of food), I can see this being an issue with other types of food like flake. My other grid type feeder has a door that is only open during feedings and works great at keeping moisture out of the feeder (it is essentially sealed when not actively dispensing food).I would be hesitant to use this on my 55 gallon aquarium where the feeding interval is every other day and I fill with flakes and pellets - I would be worried the flakes would go bad or start to mold over the course of the month that the food is in the unit. One other thing that isn't really a big deal, but worth mentioning - the cover simply rests on the unit (doesn't clip or lock on) - so it is loose and can easily be bumped off. While this does work well and appears to be reliable, it does have one flaw. At the time of this review, this unit is actually a couple dollars more than my other grid style feeder, thus why I said I'd recommend other units at this price point.

This is a vine review meaning the product was provided to be reviewed. This product is a programmable automatic fish feeder, power cord with no power block, suction cups, side clamp, funnel, and an illustrated color instruction pamphlet. The product is packaged in a cardboard box suitable for gifting if wrapped. When I was a kid and we would go up north on vacation, my dad will take me to the aquarium store and we would buy white blocks of compressed fish food that would sit on the bottom of the aquarium for the fish to nibble on. The issue always was our vacation was longer than the blocks would last to feed the fish, even if we bought the biggest blocks and used several.Enter this product – a perfect solution to an old dilemma of how to feed the fish when away from home for a while. This product has a rotating turntable on a round base with a compartment-size cutout. The turntable has 16 compartments, 15 of which can be used for food servings (The 16th food compartment is directly above the cut-out on the base and any food placed in it will fall immediately into the aquarium). The 15 food compartments can be filled with most types of fish food including flakes, pellets, and small blocks. You can also use different food types by compartment to give your fish a variety of meals. When feeding time arrives, the turntable rotates slightly to the next compartment and the food from that compartment falls into the aquarium water for the fish. This is a superior solution to feeding blocks because the amount of food can be precisely regulated to prevent excess food from clouding the water or bloating the fish. The product can be programmed to feed a maximum of eight times a day or as few times as once every four days, providing a wide range of feeding scenarios to choose from. The feeding time within a day can also be programmed, so if your fish are accustomed to having dinner at 6 PM every evening they won’t be disappointed.I feed my fish once per day on the advice of my local aquarium store meaning this product will provide nourishment for the fish for 15 days.In summary, if you are looking for a feeding solution for your aquarium fish that offers flexibility in feeding times and variety in fish food, this product presents a well-thought solution. I am glad I ordered it.
