I generally prefer to tie my own flies, not that I am better than anyone, but just the pleasure of the hobby of tying and catching a fish on my own creation. Nonetheless, I decided to order this for the poppers and wooly buggers and perhaps to share these flies with others. At $17 assuming the fly box is worth $5, that means these flies only cost about 20 cents each, just a bit more than the price of a hook.I am impressed with the quality of these flies and the variation in style and sizes. The hackle may be a bit long and in some flies and some look to be trimmed. The set is all usable and all the flies are tied very well in my opinion. I don't think much head cement is used, so I may run them through my bench and add some protection prior letting fish chomp down on them.In my opinion the set is well worth $17 and a great value.

It is 26.6 cents per fly, and, you know that many of these flies like the streamers or poppers generally cost over $3 per fly especially with the brass bead. The case is a great size to carry with you in your vest pocket AND it seals well in case you drop it in the water, a great little case. A few poppers have a little paint in the hook-eyes but a line can still go through the eyes. A couple of flies have what looks like a little loose thread but that can be easily fixed with a tough of glue on the end of a toothpick. Overall, this is a great bargain for flies and case. Great product. Thank You.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this fly box full of hand-tied flies, but I decided to take a chance since I had nothing to lose. I received the 64-count box, and I must say, it's a nice selection of wet flies, streamers, and dries. There are even a few poppers, though I haven't had much use for them in the past, so these will be the first ones I've owned. While there are no nymphs in this 64-count box, that’s not a big deal for me. Nymphing is often necessary where I fish, but it’s the least fun for me. However, I did notice that the 108-piece box includes bead-head nymphs, so I might consider purchasing that set next. All the flies seem well tied, and I feel confident they’ll stand up to some abuse—like getting caught in a tree behind me, which happens just like it does with more expensive flies. I primarily fish for trout, and I’ve already used some of these same patterns successfully in the streams I frequent. In fact, I’ve even tied some of these patterns myself, and while I still consider myself a rank amateur when it comes to fly tying, I can tell these are better than my best efforts. The flies appear to be well tied, and the hook sizes vary, which is nice for different situations.Considering the cost of hand-tied flies individually—sometimes a buck a piece—this is a tremendous value. The price is so good, in fact, that I can cast more freely without worrying too much about snagging a branch or losing one in the rocks. Fish on!

This is a nice assortment of flies in a nice pocket sized fly box. They seem to be tied well and for the price asked you actually get a pretty good deal especially when you will pay up to $1 each for some flies in this case at your local fly shop or sporting goods stores. Unless you tie your own flies you can't really get a better assortment for this price in my opinion.

I recently picked up this 64-piece fly assortment kit, and for a beginner or someone looking to expand their fly selection without breaking the bank, it's a pretty good deal. You get a nice variety of dry flies, wet flies, nymphs, streamers, and poppers, all packed neatly in a waterproof box.The sheer number of flies is impressive. It's a great way to experiment with different patterns and see what works in your local waters. I've already had some success with a few of the nymph and streamer patterns for trout. The variety means you're pretty well covered for different conditions and target species, especially for trout and bass. The waterproof fly box is a nice bonus. It's compact and keeps the flies organized, which is crucial when you're out on the water. I've had it get splashed and even briefly submerged, and the flies stayed dry. However, there are a couple of reasons why I'm giving this kit 4 stars instead of 5. First, the quality of some of the flies is a bit inconsistent. Some are tied beautifully, while others seem a bit rushed or have loose threads. They're still fishable, but you can tell the difference.Secondly, while the assortment is good, some of the patterns are a bit generic. If you're a seasoned fly fisherman, you might find some of the patterns lacking in detail or specific features. However, for a beginner, this is less of an issue.Overall, this kit is a great value for the price. It's a solid starter kit or a good way to supplement your existing fly collection. The waterproof box is a real plus, and the variety of patterns is excellent. Just be aware that the quality isn't perfect, but for casual fishing, it gets the job done.

64 fly's for $18 is a good value in my opinion. Product comes in a plastic box with a waterproof seal and real hinged latch that wont break off after a few uses. I have started tying my own fly's and beginning to learn a little about what the fish are striking on. This assortment is great because I can test a variety of styles and colors and hone in on what is working and make my own in a similar fashion. The box is about 3.5" X 5.5" and easily fits in a fishing vest pocket. the only con I can even think off is it would be nice if it had a ring on the case so you could put a string on it to tie to your waist but I am still very happy with this item

Good variety. Nice value compared to buying 1-3 flies at a time. They seem robust enough, especially considering the price. I only had two issues, neither enough to dock a star…1) With the larger flies, the big fluffy material would get pinched in the case and some would stick out. Will likely be better once I’ve used them all and they’ve been wet.2) My old fingers struggled returning a few of the flies to the case’s foam insert, it’s a tight fit with so many flies in the little case.
