Used this kit to repair an old set of Arc Audio components. Worked great, but my outer edges wanted to peel up at first, to no fault of the kit, just because of the shape of my speakers. Putting the gaskets on and then letting them dry upside down with a stack of books on top fixed that, and once the glue cured the problem was no more. If you don't have gaskets, make sure you have some clothespins handy in case this happens to you.

Used this kit for some AR Acoustics bookshelf speakers that my wife had before we were married. Was using them as front speakers for surround sound system. As the foam started to disintegrate so did the lows in these speakers. (Can't have the cone and voice coil resonating while you are watching your favorite sci-fi movie) I ordered the kit but mis-measured the speakers. Contacted the seller and they looked up my speakers, gave me the right part number and had me return the new surrounds I bought. They got the new surrounds out to me pronto. As others have said, this is not a hard job but you do have to set aside the time and pay attention to what you are doing. Following the instructions on the sellers website, I was able to refoam these speakers neatly and completely successfully. Speakers are back to their original vigor and a pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend the product and the seller

Some patience required The most important steps are to make sure all foam is removed from the rim of the speaker cone and surrounds by using liberal amounts of isopropyl alcohol. Wait for it to dry and before applying the glue; make sure there is ample glue across the width of the edge of the new foam where it meets the driver cone. Leave for 24 hours before using the speakers. It worked wonders for a pair of NHT speakers that were salvaged using these; the company did not have replacement drivers for them.

I have been using my Boston Acoustics Digital BA7500 as a 2.1 set up for my PC for over 10 years now. About a few months ago, the speaker foam in the sub finally decided to tap out and tore itself to shreds. Even though my set up was well aged, the lows that came from the sub just before it broke was still very satisfying. I didn't need anything louder or more powerful than what I currently had... so, I opted to repair it.Needless to say, I am very happy that I decided to purchase this kit. Instructions were available on the seller's website and were extremely detailed. Most of the time was spent either prepping the speakers for installation (removing the assembly from the box, removing the old glue and foam, etc.) or waiting for the adhesive to cure (one hour wait for each of the two applications). Aside from the waiting, the installation process was quick and trouble free. I could not be happier! If you have the time, I highly recommend repairing your own speakers. Nothing is like the satisfaction of a good ol' DIY!

If you have a speaker that is not replaceable, and you are willing to do some careful manual work, the kit is an excellent way to repair a speaker.I used the kit to restore the bass speaker on a Technics SX-PX44V digital piano. The bass speaker had started making "paper rattle" sounds, because the 22-year old speaker's foam had developed tears. The edges of the speaker cone were flapping free. I searched for a replacement speaker, but alas even the substitute for the substitute for the original is no longer made :-(. So I initially tried gluing the tears with Aleen's Tacky Glue. Though that repaired the tears, fresh tears developed after a few months. What was needed was a new foam ring.So I ordered the kit. The instructions (downloaded from Springfield Speaker's web site) were clear and had ample emphasis on the critical steps. Like painting a house, the hard part is the prep part. Be prepared to spend an afternoon cleaning away the old foam and prying off the speaker gasket *carefully*. My prep work was perhaps more difficult than typical because I had to remove the my Tacky Glue too. The new foam went on without any problems and the piano back in shape.
