CONSTRUCTION:1)Not as nicely finished as the OEM costing more than 10 times as much, but fits just as well.2)Cheap Catalytic Section, shorter and narrower than OEM, less catalytic material, potentially more restrictiveOPERATION:1)Works just like an OEM with no CEL despite the car being notorious for being finicky with non OEM cats. I did replace the downstream sensor that had become lazy but didn't have to use a sensor extender, so I'm quite happy with the result.2)Low Smell, a big improvement over a smelly straight pipe. My wife doesn't complain when I start the car in the morning like she used to.PERFORMANCE:1)Slight reduction in pick-up and fuel economy from a straight pipe situation, mitigated if you drive conservatively like I do. If not, you'll probably be better off with a high flow cat.2)After a few months, considering winter driving conditions, fuel consumption hasn't been significantly affected.BANG FOR THE BUCK: Despite installation hassles due to the totally useless included mounting hardware (gaskets, bolts and springs are the wrong type and size so you'll have to buy them separately), considering its performance, it's been a huge value over the OEM that costs more than 10 times more.FINAL VERDICT: the only real sensible value when you factor in cat theft. Cnsidering our cars are very prone to cat theft, I am not a fan or OEM cats because they never stay long enough to be a good return investment. So if you're not in an environmentally Nazi 'CARB' jurisdiction and drive conservatively, this cat should suit you well - just make sure to buy the right mounting hardware as the kit they send with it is totally useless, like almost every other review here has already mentioned.LONG TERM:1)Operation: If it degrades, I will update this review. If it makes it past one year, I post an update as well.2)Materials Quality: I will check it after the winter for signs of corrosion. I honestly don't expect much considering I live in the salt belt, but I've been pleasantly surprised before by inexpensive car parts made of "chinesium" like this one.4 stars out of 5 because the mounting hardware is of the wrong type and size and totally useless.
