These definitely are thinner than they are made out to be. They flex if you try and bend them in your hands. That said, using 4 of them into a 2x12 easily holds up 250lbs on a hangboard (see photo). I think these would fail if they were mounted into a wall with downward force though.

It doesn’t bring the whole support to work better. Now I have to go to Home Depot to find something that’ll fit for support it.
