This product is for younger trees, perhaps three inch diameter trunk but no more. It comes as a tube with longitudinal serated slit on the side. You need gloves to open the tube adequately to apply. So far, it has prevented further deer damage.

Delivered as pictured and work well on my trees with smallish trunks. Biggest drawback is that they are difficult to get them apart due to their rigidity. It took two of us to pull them apart mainly due to my arthritic hands. They do fit well and stack for good coverage once you get them on the trunk. Price is very reasonable compared with other tree guards I've looked at. I will definitely buy more.
