Product Description

E7018 Stick Welding Electrodes

Introducing the E7018 Welding Rod, a versatile and reliable solution for a wide range of welding applications. Crafted with precision and engineered for performance, this electrode is designed to meet the demands of welding carbon steel, high-tensile steel, low alloy steel, and free-machining steels. Its low-hydrogen composition ensures minimal risk of hydrogen-induced cracking, making it suitable for all-position welding tasks.

Low-hydrogen iron powder coating and graphite tip

One of the key features of the E7018 is its ability to deliver a quiet, steady arc, promoting a smooth welding experience. This, coupled with its low spatter characteristics, ensures a cleaner workspace and reduces the need for post-weld cleanup. The special low-hydrogen iron powder coating and graphite tip not only contribute to its stable arc but also enhance re-striking capabilities and deposition efficiency, ultimately saving time and effort during welding operations.

After welding, the E7018 produces easily removable residue, revealing a finely rippled bead appearance indicative of high-quality welds. Its x-ray quality weld deposit ensures exceptional weld integrity, while its impressive Charpy impact values at sub-zero temperatures, boasting 78 ft-lbs at -20°F, speak to its reliability in demanding conditions. From structural and fabrication steels such as I-beams, angles, plates, and channels to cast steels, cold-rolled steel, process piping steels, and shipbuilding steels, the E7018 excels in delivering robust and durable welds across various industries and sectors.

Easily removable residue with a finely rippled bead appearance

In summary, the E7018 Welding Rod stands out as a dependable choice for professionals and hobbyists alike. With its superior performance, ease of use, and versatility in applications, it has become a staple tool in welding arsenals worldwide. Decided to try to use one of those new silly 110 welders that fit in the palm of your hand to repair a spot under my old rusty truck. What I have learned:+++110 welders are a pain in the bum.+++These rods are extremely prone to having the incense flavoring flake off at the slightest disturbance. Say if you drop it two inches from the ground, you are left just holding a bare metal rod with fuzzy boots on.++++I could not get these to maintain a spark state on the palm-sized welder. These rods are probably not what you want to go with if you are using the world's tiniest welder.++++However, I did use these same rods on a 220 and they worked very well, excellent penetration, smooth beading, strong, so easy a caveman could do it.+++Unless there are rods out there made specifically for the baby-d stick welders, I would avoid the tiny stick welders altogether, unless it's 110 degrees outside you are going to stick your rod 5 times a minute I don't care how good you are. It's just not enough umpth to maintain continuous heat, at least not on a heat-sink of an old truck.Good rods tho for sure.
