The replacement switch fit right into the mounting hole on my Throttle shifter of my 2003 90hp Johnson outboard...very happy with the switch and price. OEM part was 400% more.

So first of all. Cords were short, no problem, I just spliced the lines in. Have done that on plenty of outboards controls. After reading other reviews, thought I might have to anyways. No biggie.Also I read in other reviews, these switches stop working fairly fast, some within months, but since I only fish a few times a year, I should get plenty of use out it. Wrong. So I spliced it in. Checked to make sure she tilted the motor, and presto. Worked. So put the control back together, connected back to the battery... stopped working. Just that fast. From the time I checked to make sure it would work before assembling... to thirty seconds after I put the last bolt in.... it stopped working. So five minutes of working. Waste of money. Not sure if OEM is better, I know they cost a ton more.. but what is the use of buying cheap ones if they don't work five minutes later. Can't return it. I cut the wires down to splice to the old lines. Drives me crazy.

Yes, it is a trim sensor and does make the needle on my trim gauge move, but the needle travel does not have a linear relation to the outdrive travel, and there is a delay in response because the sensor stem does not fit snugly in the bell housing pin bolt. Once you work out the bugs, it does give you an idea where your motor is, but not great.
