Yaxtida is a sheet-applied polyethylene waterproofing membrane and vapor retarder. Ideal for waterproofing tiled tub surrounds and showers, it features anchoring fleece on both sides for thin-set mortar. It prevents water damage, mold, and mildew.

Application

Sealing membrane to be applied under ceramic tiles and flagstones has excellent waterproofing properties. Suitable for example for the following typical areas: domestic bathrooms, commercial kitchen, public and domestic shower rooms & wet areas. The sealing membrane can also be applied on outside balconies and terraces where no living space is situated underneath. If applied with suitable adhesives or sealants it meets the requirements of higher moisture stress classification (e.g. swimming pools)

TIPS

1.Due to technical reasons, the color or thickness of the roll material may vary slightly between different batches.

2.The waterproof membrane is not self-adhesive and is best used with unmodified thin-set mortar and adhesive powder.

I'm tiling my bathroom and needed this for seaming the bottom edge 90 degrees with my larger membrane. It provides a waterproof barrier under my tile work. I've used the top name brands before and this is as good a quality. I made a 3 day test piece to check it's waterproofing abilities and it held fine. The roll is 160' so it goes a long way. It is definitely a great value!

This waterproof membrane tape is used to seam the joints where other full sheets of membrane come together. It’s fastened down with thin set and if applied properly creates a water proof barrier for tile. This tape is every bit as nice as the high dollar stuff you find at the box stores. The manufacturer says it is 28 mil which is plenty heavy for this application. The fleece covering feels very tight to the poly it’s attached to. I’m very pleased to have found this. I’m looking forward to trying it out on my next tile job.

I really can't distinguish this from the name brand alternative. It looks slightly different, but works exactly the same. I've used this specific waterproof membrane on several jobs and have not had any problems or callbacks. I'm a tile setter, with over 30 years experience, and I wouldn't use this if I didn't feel comfortable and confident and it's performance. Recommended

This product is easy to bend and is perfect for waterproofing where the floor meets the wall under your shower tile. The strips need to be secured with thin-set mortar and adhesive powder.
