I found this to be a perfect replacement for my MTD 2-Stage 24” snowblower. Installed the new shave plate yesterday so blower is ready for next season. The holes in the shave plate were identical to the old plate and installation went smoothly. I already had a second set of carriage bolts, nuts and washers on hand to perform the replacement.

This shave plate fits just like a OEM part. Great thick metal with appropriate holes for the bolts. You may want to look for bolts as they tend to wear from the friction, but the shave plate is perfect and installs within minutes.

Perfect fit for my 24" 208cc Craftsman snowblower. it's easy to replace and you don't want to wait until your old shave plate is gone. This is inexpensive compared to repairing / replacing the transmission housing.

I am giving this teh benefit of the doubt since I had issues mounting it that were related to my snowblower and not this part. I wasn't aware that the holes for the bolts and been ground down until I went to change it, so I couldn't mount it properly. I was about to get it mounted using side holes, but I am not sure if this will last. The bar is the correct size, and it fits fine, so I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't work well as a replacement. Time will tell if my alternative mounting method will work, but it LOOKS like it might.

Direct replacement for the OEM part for my MTD snow blower. The hardest part about the install was removal of the old fasteners, which had to be ground off. My number one piece of advice is; Don't wait too long to replace this wear item, as permanent damage to the chassis WILL result. Ask me how I know.
