I liked this lens well enough, especially for the price. However, less than 2 months in the focus/zoom rings started catching and making some grinding noises. I contacted their customer service and was told I could get a free repair given the issues. The problem is that it needs to be shipped to China (not paid by seller) and depending on where you look it could cost at least as much as the lens is worth. I guess I'm stuck with it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this lens for the price.PROS:- The unboxing experience was high quality.- Colors and sharpness were impressive although it does get soft in the corners- Sunstars are very sharp from F11 onward- Looks great and is compact.CONS:- Horrible contrast at f1.8 but gets better after F2- Has A LOT of flare when pointing it directly into light sources but can be used as a creative tool if you work around it.- Lens cap seemed pretty cheap and didn't match the silver lens- Difficult to grip the focus ring which is probably why they included the focus assist accessory.Overall a very quality product and would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind that its manual focus only.

... on my particular example, the focus ring has a little bit of grind in it. It's livable, and I like using this lens all the same.

It's by far one the best lens in my kit of lenses. Very fast, sharp and results are way to good.

This is a great lens to affordably try out a prime lens. It's full manual which can actually be quite rewarding when you are always forced to set it yourself. Picture quality is quite good, however it's a little soft. Would recommend if you just want to experiment with primes and have some fun.

The image quality is sharp with great bokeh in the unfocused areas. I did buy the silver model and was looking forward to the cool look of the silver. Unfortunately, I received the black model instead. I was going to sent it back for an exchange, but it looked fine on my black X-T2. It works great with focus peeking engaged. For the price, the quality is high, and the image output is nice. I recommend buying this lens for fujifilm x-t2.

I, regrettably don't write many reviews, but I feel like I had to. This little lens packs a serious punch! I was blown away with the results! I was very hesitant about the it being all manual, but it hasn't hindered me at all! It does help, though, that my Fujifilm focus peak assist. Don't be fooled, this lens is worth every penny and more! I have attached two pics, one at f1.8 in low light, and another at f16 in bright light. The lens handled both with stunning results.

This lens is a lot of fun. For the price, it's difficult to find fault with it. The build quality is great, everything works well, and there's something enjoyable about slowing down and using a manual focus lens. Picture quality is very nice for what it is. If you need clinical sharpness across the frame then you should look at the native Fuji lenses and spend 5x (or more) as much. If you want a lens that's fun to use and adds some unique character to your photos at a very reasonable price, this one is a good choice. So, what's different between buying this lens and just using an old film-era lens with an adapter? For me, the biggest thing is that it's native Fuji mount so you don't have to deal with an adapter. This just pops on the camera and it makes for a very small and light package.

The five stars need to be taken relatively to the price and what the lens offers. This lens is sold under multiple brands. I like to believe 7Artisans have better QC but have no proof. Pros: Price, size, close focus (18 cm), sharpness in the centre, bokeh. Cons: Corner sharpness wide open, de-clicked aperture.Note: The lens has bags of character. In other words, it's not surgically perfect as modern lenses tend to be. But it also means it can give you pictures no modern lens can.Unlike vintage lenses, which at this focal length tend to be larger and more expensive, you are almost guaranteed the lens won't be scratched or moldy. The lens definitely isn't optically better than the 18-55 zoom, but the aperture gives you much more flexibility to play with the depth of field. It also looks great on my Fuji X-T20 and fits even small bags. The close focus makes it great for crystal ball photography. Interestingly, the magnification is almost the same as my Voigtlander ultron 28/2 on a helicoid adapter. So, if you use Leica M wideangles and helicoid adapter, no upgrade in terms of MFD for you. The focal length is great for walkaround (my walkaround used to be the Pentax DA 21mm pancake, so this is great).Recommendation: Browse Flickr and Instagram and if you like the pictures, just get it, it is a fun lens to have.

This is a great lens in general and an AMAZING lens for the price! I opted for the silver so I had to order it directly from 7Artisans, it took a little longer to get, but it was totally worth it! The pics are sharp and the lens is really well built. There's very little distortion and CA. My only gripe is that the aperture doesn't have click stops, which makes it easy to mess up while focusing, it's such a small lens that I've (on multiple occasions) turned the aperture ring by accident thinking it was the focus ring. But its fine, I'll get used to it. I've really enjoyed the two weeks that I've spent with this lens, and it will be the main lens for my X-E2s. It's nice and compact. I didn't want to deal with the size and weird shape of Fuji's 23mm's, so I took a chance with this one. I'm glad it paid off, and with the money I saved, I splurged on sweet Yama lens hood for it. Was it worth it? Maybe not, but since my vision doesn't really allow me to use expensive rangefinders anymore, I've sold everything off, and only have Fujis now, so I wanted to treat myself :)
