I was unsatisfied with the kit lens for my Sony A6000 and I wanted a prime lens. The 'normal' lens for a crop sensor camera is about 35mm, but that's subjective. I like a slighly wider lens as my normal because I shoot my subjects closer than most people. I saw this 25mm lens for $69 and was skeptical, but after reading the reviews I bought it. I've been teaching photography for over 40 years and I get to use all brands of cameras and lenses from thousands of students, plus what I own. I'm very picky! This lens is a very good performer. It's as sharp as any prime lens I own. It's totally manual, and the f/stops have no detents, but that doesn't matter on cameras that have good Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority modes. Sony has both highlight and focus peaking to assist in critical focus, so the manual focus worked well in bright or dim light. The focus was especially smooth with the included stick on knob. The linear distortion from this focal length is very well controlled. All in all, I'll be using it a lot!

I almost gave up on this. As a beginner, I find the manual lens intimidating. But boy was I glad to stick around. Great for low light, very lightweight and compact.

Se siente de muy buena calidad, es muy luminoso comparado con el lente de kit de mi sony nex 6, y es muy compacto, justo lo que buscaba para mi cámara. Hay comentarios acerca de que a tapa del lente no se ve de buena calidad, pero en realidad no veo ningun problema con eso. No batalle con el anillo de apertura y el anillo de enfoque como mencionan algunos que es chico. No tiene la mejor calidad de imágen, pero es de esperarse, y si no eres profesional es mas que suficiente. No dude en comprar.

Great lens for the money. My unit focuses past infinity which is annoying but wasn’t expecting much for the money. Captured some beautiful moments with it. Nice and light so I can take it everywhere. Metal construction is nice. Included lens hood is awesome! Love this focal length as well. Manual focus forces me to become a better photographer.

Great lens to stick on and carry around. You don’t have to worry about bouncing it off things while you walk around. It’s pretty tough and the image quality is par as well.

This is a very good lens to play with manual focusing on today's fully automatic cameras (Fuji XE2S and XPro2 in my case). The picture quality is very good, I'll say on par but probably no better than Fuji's lens. The build/material quality is also excellent. Combined with the price this little gem is pretty hard to beat. I want to emphasize the fun factor. This is like using my Leica IIIb, they slowed me down when I took pictures but made the process somehow more satisfying.

I thought this would be a sort of TOY lens because it's so cheap. It's made VERY well and it's super sharp. A little corner vignetting but very little. It's a really great lens for the price. Can't beat it.
