i've had one for about half a year, my only issue has been the depth gauge is incorrect, and the motor seems to get warm rather quickly. but I use it for drilling steel, and I might be a little hard on it. Adjusting the belt is real easy. And by adjusting the speed it gives me all the power that I need for half inch drill bits and larger. It doesn't have all the options though more expensive ones do, but it does the job I need to. So for the money, it's a good deal.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bought for gift for son in law. He is just beginning to do little projects around the house. No room for a floor model, plus we could not afford. Husband found this drill press and felt it was good for a first drill press. Son in law is very happy with it. It does everything he needs it to do.

What I learned from purchasing this product: never, ever trust Amazon Vine reviews from people who've gotten the product for free. Good grief. I bought this for some home craft projects, understanding full well that it was very inexpensive and that I would likely be getting what I paid for. Well, I did. It's small, made of very thin metal, with a depth gauge and table angle gauge both made of paper glued onto the frame. The safety shield is very flimsy. The chuck is not securely fastened to the drive shaft -- it has a tapered column and you must (I am not making this up) hammer it onto the shaft until it sticks. Speed control requires opening the assembly and rejiggering a drive belt with no clear instructions. There's no guide or flute to keep the table from rotating as you make adjustments. The user manual, which might have come off an inkjet printer, is comically small, written in barely understandable English, and features all of one-half page of assembly instructions. On the plus side, the motor is quite smooth and quiet. It's sturdier than it looks in the product image. It's cheap, and it does work. If you have one (1) job to do and need a drill press for it, and you don't plan on making this a regularly used tool in your workshop, then you might find it worth the money and mild aggravation. But don't buy this hoping to strike gold with a real bargain. After a few uses, and with the Amazon return deadline nearing, I decided to send this back and to find a different, much better-made drill press, having learned my lesson the hard way.

In full disclosure I own a couple of other 8" drill press units from big names. This unit competes with either of them, as far as I can tell. Furthermore, it has a guard, which is something that they lack. The design is fairly typical with a rotating and sliding base. To adjust the speeds you have to manually change the way the bands are configured. If you think that is a pain, I have a 7.5HP 3-phase shaper that requires the same manual adjustment, but it is way more difficult.Quality seems absolutely fine. I will post pictures and more comments shortly.

I am in the process of building book shelf and cabinet built-ins in our remodeled basement. For joinery I will be using a combination pocket hole screws, biscuits and wooden dowels. This drill press will come in handy for edge drilling holes in boards for wooden dowels so they can be joined and edge glued together to form cabinet tops.At first I wasn't sure if this came with a depth stop gauge because it wasn't clear in the product description. I was delighted to find that it does indeed come with one. It is mounted on the right side on the handle shaft. What I Likeo Compact size. Fits on bench top. Doesn't take up too much room. Big enough to be useful.o Mostly metal construction.o Safety on/off switch. Pull for "on." Push for "off."o Simple assembly. All small parts are already assembled.o Easy adjustment of table with a single hand screw. Holds securely.o Slots in table to accommodate a vise or other attachment.o Table can be tilted or swung aside for drilling larger items. Base has slots for vise.o Descent power from 2.5A motor.o Adjustable speeds to match drilling requirements.o Depth stop adjustment. Good for partially drilling holes for dowels or cabinet door hidden hinges.o Smooth and relatively quiet operation. No wobble or excessive vibration.o Budget friendly.Summary CommentsThis is a compact drill press that is small enough to fit on a bench top yet large enough to be useful. It is relatively quiet and runs smoothly. Assembly is simple. If you are looking for a budget friendly drill press that will perform operations not easily achievable with a hand drill, this is a good choice.

I had this short bout with Harbor Freight and 2 of their drill presses that wobbled really badly. This one doesn't wobble, so it's already way ahead. It's great for hobbyists for sure. For 40 hours a week type use I'm not so sure, mine probably only has 20 hours of spinning time so far. It's basically the same thing from harbor freight in terms of controls and features. It makes holes and that's about it.

This review is for the 8 Inch Benchtop Drill Press, 2.5Amp Benchtop Drill Machine. Solid build and easy to assemble. It includes a guard but lacks variable speed control, but that’s ok given the price ($110). This is a good choice for occasional use.
