I used this yesterday with my BGE, the pieces are nice and large. I added a few in with my BGE Lump coal and I created a nice flavor.

This was excellent mesquite lump charcoal. We used it for grilling 1/2 a turkey (about 6-7 lbs) for Thanksgiving & the flavor was incredible, just a little over an hour for the thigh quarter & about an hour & a quarter for the breast quarter. The charcoal way good & hot after the bird was done. We also just used some mixed with lump hardwood charcoal for burgers & chicken. The pieces are a good range of sizes for a variety of grilling needs IMO, esp if grilling for a small party.

This is great stuff. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth it. You know what they say - you get what you pay for. If you’re used to regular charcoal, this will blow you away. After much research, I chose this to use to grill our turkey for Thanksgiving this year. It was our first time grilling the hallowed bird of thanks, but it turned out perfect! We used a charcoal chimney to get it started, so no fluid or chemical taste ended up on the meat, just a nice, slow-roasted smoky flavor. We kept a close eye on the grill temp and added briquettes when necessary, which was maybe twice after the initial bunch. The burn time is much longer than standard charcoal. I’m really impressed with this product and now that I’ve used it, it will be difficult to return to the old soak-it-with-fluid or light-the-bag style charcoal we are used to.

Originally from south Texas, working up north it’s difficult to find any form of mesquite to BBQ with. Glad I found these guys.
